Mr. George E. Waikem, Sr. distinguished himself as a pilot during World War II and upon his discharge from the U.S. Air Force in 1945, embarked upon his automotive career. He started with a used-car lot and in 1954 opened National Car Leasing, Inc., which blossomed into what is today, a very large corporation. In those days, however, the leased cars supplied the used car lot and Mr. Waikem was doing quite well. He did however, want a new car franchise to supply' his car leasing venture. The Ford Motor Co. granted him franchise rights in 1957, and that was the beginning of George Waikem Ford, Inc. Never satisfied, Mr. Waikem, with the help of his family and dedicated employees, began a long list of franchises that included Volvo Village in 1974, Honda in 1975, and Chrysler, Plymouth in 1976 which then became Waikem Motors, Inc. Waikem Nissan, Inc. became a reality in 1989 with Waikem Mitsubishi added in 1990. 

It did not take long for the community to realize that the ethical business practices with which The Waikem dealerships operated, made them the place to go for automobile and heavy truck sales and service. As the Company grew, so did the involvement in the community. The Waikem Family and The Waikem Auto Family has been recognized by numerous organizations throughout Ohio for all of their charitable and civic contributions.

Terms of Sale Overview

All vehicles above $2500 will be charged a dealership documentation fee of $250. All vehicles $2499.99 and under will be charged a dealership documentation fee which is 10% of the sale price. All vehicles will be charged a $15 title transfer fee. We can supply an Ohio 30 day temporary tag for $18.50 for all qualifying vehicles. State of Ohio customers who are transferring plates and are not trading in a vehicle can do so for $4.50. State of Ohio customers that are trading in a vehicle and are transferring plates will be charged an additional $5 title transfer fee and $4.50 plate transfer fee. Taxes are paid at the customer's local sales tax rate. Waikem Auto Family must receive tax payments from Ohio residents at their county's tax rate. Out of state buyers are responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, emissions testing, as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. The state of Ohio is now charging sales tax for the following states: Arizona 6.60%, California 7.25%, Florida 6.00%, Indiana 7.00%, Massachusetts 6.25%, Michigan 6.00% and South Carolina 5.00% or $300 tax cap. Collected sales tax for out of state buyers will be paid to your state of residence if sales tax are higher in one of the states listed above you would just pay the difference in your state. You will not pay double tax. Please note that our vehicles are offered for sale on our lot as well as on Ebay. We reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is sold by any other means. Winning bidder must contact us within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 5 days of Auction end. If no contact is made within 24 hours we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. We will accept Cashier's Check/Money Order, Cash (in person), or Personal Check (once cleared).

Credit problems are no problem. We understand that circumstances arise, and that financial situations may be difficult to handle. We work with a large network of lenders to get even the most "credit challenged" customer financed.
