Up for sale we have a 1955 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop. This was the car that started an all new era for Chevy. The shoe box 44 with the all new V8 was to forever change the face of automobiles. It is one of the most recognized and renown vehicles in the world. The ’55 Chevy Hard Top that we have for you has some great upgrades with the AC and Power Disc brakes, but more than the options this is a killer looking car that runs out and drives A1. It comes with a lot of miscellaneous documentation from over the years and was bought be a 3 owner car. In the paragraphs to follow we will give you a brief description of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of the Chevy, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.

Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. We will start off with the exterior of the Bel Air. When you look down the sides you will see they are straight with a very good fit of the door, hood, and trunk. The body is covered in the same color that came from the factory with. It’s the Gypsy Red that is accented by the Shoreline Beige that has been buffed and polished to a mirror finish with a deep rich shine. All the stainless is in great shape and has a great fit. The bumpers look new along with the other chrome. All the weather stripping and window trim has been replaced. The final exterior touch is the new set of 18” and 20” American Racing Wheel and new tires.

Next, we will take a look at the interior of the ’55. It is also done in the same scheme that it came from the factory with. It has the two tone Being and Red scheme to keep suite with the exterior of the car. The seats and covers are correct. All the roof rail stainless and headliner bars are good. The carpet and door panels look like new or in like new condition. When you look at the dash it looks stock with only and oil and temp gauges being added. The radio was upgraded to a working digital AM/FM. When the AC was added they used the vintage system so the controls look factory with the vents being added under the dash. The unit also has heat and defrost.

Finally, we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it’s powered by a 350 V8 that is mated to a 350 Turbo Trans. The engine is stock with only a set of chrome valve covers and breather. It retains the stock style manifolds with dual exhaust. The AC was done very neatly and keeps everything looking clean. They added an electric fan to help keep it cool on long hot summer days. The brakes were upgraded to Power with Disc on the Front. When you put this Bel Air on the rack the floor pans look great. It still has the factory under coating. All the floor braces are solid as well as the frame looks good with no visible signs of any damage.
