This fabulous 55’ Buick Super Riviera Coupe is a true custom with a native Texas history… The main feature of this car is the Carson Top, for those not familiar.  The Carson top is a one-piece, padded, upholstered, removable top. Bob Houser invented the design in 1935 when he worked for Amos Carson at Carson Top Shop in Los Angeles, USA.  The vehicle originated as a hardtop and there are no side windows when this feature is performed. The next big step for this vehicle is the stance. The vehicles suspension has been modified with ladder bar rear with air bags on all four corners. The paint is super slick, Satin Baby Blue from Kustom Shop. Also, underneath the vehicle there is blue Neon for cruising the strip at night. The rest of the vehicle is said to be original but in my opinion the chrome is too nice to be original. I would say most of the chrome and stainless had been redone, it’s very nice and looks almost flawless. The engine is now been replaced with a 350 Chevy and a 350 transmission, much more user friendly. The vehicle does have factory power steering and brakes. The tires are all new from Coker with factory wheels and caps. As you can see from the pictures, the vehicle is nice but could use an update on the interior. As far as being a Rat, it’s nicer than a Rat…
