WINNER BEST PRESERVED CLASS !!!

I have little feedback on Ebay because I am not a compulsive buyer or seller. I say what I will do and do what I say! I encourage anyone who is a real buyer to inspect this car at my home or an independent classic car shop of which many are available here in southern California. Recommendations provided upon request.

Please don't hesitate to call me @ cell 714-600-4459 Don. I am up very late on the west coast. I must speak with the successful buyer within 24 hours of close of auction or I will cancel high bid and re-list immediately.

Recent classic car auctions have retrieved north of $30,000 for pristine original collectibles like this rare model. This specimen could be rated as a number 1.4 original quality example. IT is fully functional and beautiful. You decide and bid with confidence.

Still dressed in its flawless Factory original solid BLACK interior! Even the carpet still has the Mopar part tag attached under the carpet flap near the driver side seat. So fanatical about loving and preserving this car was the owner, that she kept it garaged daily. This car now sports an IMPECCABLY FLAWLESS deep lustrous show quality finish of code A4 Silver mist metallic, which is the car’s original color it was born with. It was given a no expense spared, 3 stage show quality paint, consisting of hand blocking and color sanding all three stages of the paint application process, to achieve a perfect laser straight mirror like finish. The vehicle's rubber seals and weather stripping have retained the highest quality of any preserved vehicle I have seen, due to the perfect balance of dry and moderate humidity experienced its whole life in southern California. Make sure you see the pictures of the impeccably rust free dry undercarriage, floor pans, trunk, frame and wheel wells. A file full of documentation is complete with the original owners operation manual and receipts.

Every attention to detail in originality has been adhered to in the refreshing process to insure originality and reliability. The engine bay compartment was meticulously kept spotless in "like new" condition. It is reliable, runs like a top and is fun to drive!! You can’t stop at a light, park at a store or run down the freeway without EVERYONE giving you a thumbs up in admiration and jealousy!!

Every option and item works on this automobile and operates as designed. This car has been driven regularly and sparingly throughout the years. It has regularly maintained and serviced as needed throughout the years. Everything has been freshly sorted out with weeks of driving daily to win awards at shows and cruise-ins. It can be started and driven across town or this whole country at a moment's notice with confidence. Most consider the 1969 Barracuda to by the most collectible, refined and drivable Cuda of the series.

Standard equipment included (SRS) stage 2 Supplemental Restraint Safety system with dual lap and shoulder harness seat belts. Special ordered options on this car included fender mounted turn signals, air scoop brakes, electric 2 speed windshield wipers, carpets with rubber heal pad insert, padded dash, courtesy and dome lamps, glove box and ashtray lights, full wheel covers, headliner, chrome roof side moldings, Torque flight automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, windshield washers and deep twist loop carpeting. AM Transonic radio, drip rails, belt moldings, wheel opening lip moldings, undercoat and hood padding, cigar lighter, trunk cargo light, drivers side outside remote adjusted mirror, tinted glass, custom molded foam seat padding, heavy duty drum brakes (power), 4 way flashers. This rare automobile was also ordered with Factory Air Conditioning.

The visual appeal from inside is so pleasing and inviting with a flawless steering wheel, crack free intact padded dash and Rallye dash full gauge instrumentation, that many consider the 60's interiors from the Big Three to be the high water mark for interior design. At shows I frequently get comments like: "Why don't the car companies make interiors like this anymore?!"

A LITTLE 1969 PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA HISTORY

Serious about performance in 1969, Plymouth was upgrading the Barracuda as a serious contender to be reckoned with. Boosting engine horsepower to 330 on the popular 383 V8 engine option, Plymouth also introduced a cosmetic package built around the Formula S option, which they called the 'Cuda. The 'Cuda could be had with either the 275 hp 340 V8 or the 383. Still not as powerful as hoped, Plymouth began stuffing the triple carb 440 V8 under the hood, the largest engine yet available in the pony car. Available with automatic only and manual steering as well as too much weight over the front wheels, handling and braking suffered. The ’69 Barracuda optioned with the 440 was recorded as running the 1/4 mile in 14.01 seconds and the 383 in 15.5 seconds. Engine options consisted of a 340 V8 with 275 hp, 383 V8 with 330 hp and a 440+6 V8 with 390 hp.1

The second generation Barracudas were what the originals should have been right from the start, three years earlier. While still based upon modest Valiant mechanicals, the body was differentiated with exclusive sheet metal and body styles now included the requisite convertible, coupe and fastback variants. In addition, “some” luck was with Chrysler in that their corporate torsion bar front suspension system allowed for wider big-block engines to easily be fitted into relatively small cars, and that’s just what their engineers did. 1967 Barracudas could be had with powerful 383 V8’s of 280 hp, but Ford did an end-run around Chrysler again, and offered the Mustang with a 315 hp 390 V8, while GM offered up to 375 hp in their new Chevy Camaro with 396 V8, and up to 325 hp in their new Pontiac Firebird 400. “Curses, foiled again!” was probably the cry in Chrysler HQ. Even so, Barracuda sales did increase to 62,500 in 1967 from 54,500 in 1966, even with the introduction of new competitors from the “800 pound gorilla in the living room” GM. 1968 saw a modest power gain for the 383, to 300 hp, still not “up there” on paper with the competition, and 1969 saw another gain for the Barracuda 383, to 330 hp. In reality, the 383 was a very strong, torque-infused engine and performance was scorching. Torque counts for acceleration, horsepower for top speed. The limitations of the small body width which wouldn’t allow the tall deck big-block or Hemi engines to be fitted were about to be addressed in the next generation, but could not be addressed given the limitations of the base car used in this generation. These cars are widely considered to be some of the cleanest looking of the “trim” sized Barracudas, and are fully capable machines especially if massive power is not demanded. The small bock 318 engines were available, and by this time, these engines were based upon the more modern architecture of the 273 engines introduced in 1964. Handling for these small block cars was handily better than the equivalent cross town rivals, but in this era, it was largely straight line performance which counted. Convertibles are very rare, and likely to continue to appreciate handily, especially in 383 guise.2
