Welcome to AdventureMotorCar's online listing. You are looking at a Monza Red 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 Station Wagon. This is one of only 1,300 Station Wagons made in 1997 (one of only three Monza Red SW's ever made). It runs and drives as good as it looks.
The story on this Defender is as follows. According to the VIN number, it was the forth 1997 Defender 90 off of the line (it has a 06/96 build date) and was kept in the UK from 1997 until 2007 (that's the reason for the third lens on the passenger rear). While in the UK it was owned by a Land Rover employee (employed at the corporate office in Gaydon). This Defender was used for advertising/ marketing vehicle to showcase the re-design (from the '95 model year). I have the owner' manual which shows servicing at the Gaydon facility (see pics) including the documented odometer change at 33,696 in 2004. The added stereo and wheels are both listed in the service booklet. The CARFAX shows that it was imported from the UK in 2007 and has been in California ever since.
Options include; 4.0L V-8 Engine, Automatic Transmission, 16" alloy wheels, 265/75/16 Michelin All Terrain T/A Tires, Land Rover chrome side steps, Land Rover bull bar, Land Rover mud flaps (front and rear), Land Rover 6-piece diamond plating, Land Rover AM/FM/CD player stereo system, (2) Land Rover weatherproof speakers, Land Rover Rubber Mats (front and rear), and more!
The exterior is in great condition. The finish on the paint is nice and glossy. The only exterior apologies are a few minor imperfections typical of a sixteen-year-old vehicle (see pics). The wheels look great and the Tires are have plenty of tread remaining.
The interior of this Defender is in great condition. The seats are in good condition with no stains. The rubber matting, dash and plastic trim are all in good shape. Only typical flaws found (see pics).
