The Ford F series of pickup trucks has been on the market since 1948. The first-generation F-Series pick-up — known as the Ford Bonus-Built — was made as a replacement for the previous car-based pick-up line introduced in 1941. The F-Series was sold in eight different weight ratings, with pick-up, panel truck, cab-over engine, conventional truck, and school bus chassis body styles. Originally, F-3s were heavy duty, 3/4-ton pickups. Sixteen different plants made the first generation of the F-Series. While the F-Series is still on the road and rolling out of plants today, Generation I lives on with MotoeXotica’s newest addition to our showroom. We have a custom, modernized ’49 Ford F-3 Dually Pickup. This rockin’ yet powerful truck has the looks of a ’49 F-3 with the might and features of a later F-Series model. The body is straight from a ’49 F-3 placed on the frame of a late model F-Series. This elevates the body higher off the ground than the original F-3s. The truck sits on a dually frame with six tires. Tire specs are: Radial R45 (LT235/85 R16) with a set of new Phoenix USA rims. Though the body is from ’49, it looks like it rolled off the assembly today. The newer handsome deep blue exterior glistens in the sunlight during the workday. The body is the only thing mechanical left from the late ‘40s. Under the hood, the engine is a 351-CID Ford V8 that will pack extra punch for those tougher jobs or roar loudly on the open road. The transmission is a Ford five-speed manual, and the F3 is equipped with power brakes and power steering. The interior is completely upgraded save for the original steering wheel and dash; however, there is no horn button. The seats are an upgrade from the original bench seats, as the driver and passenger sit in tan vinyl bucket seats from a later model F-Series. The air conditioning works if you need to cool off on the way back from the job site or taking your loved one out to dinner. VIN is 98RV467810CH, and mileage reads 1,026. GET OUT AND DRIVE!
