Up for sale we have a 1972 Dodge Challenger. They only built this car from ’70-’74. By ’72 all the big engines were gone so the fact that this car has a big block in it there is no way its matching numbers. However, it gives you an option that few have and makes it the perfect for Big Block fans that like a more modern look with the same traditional attitude. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Dodge, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.

Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.

We will start off with the exterior of the Challenger. This is a very straight car with great lines and the fit and finish of the panels is very good. The body is covered in B5 Bright Blue that is accented by the Black RT Stripes. The paint looks good with a deep rich shine. It appears to have had new bumpers installed. The stainless looks factory and is in good shape. As for the weather stripping it appears to have been replaced when the car was painted. The final exterior touch is the set of new 18” and 20” American Racing Wheels and Tires.

Next, we will take a look at the interior of the ’72. Everything is done in classic black that really pulls the exterior and interior together. It has the correct bucket seats and console. The seats, carpet, headliner, and door panels all look very good. It has the standard gauge dash with the radio being upgraded to a CD Player. As a whole the interior is nice with the fit being good.

Finally, we will take a look at the drive line of the Dodge. Under the hood the engine bay is painted as it should be to match the exterior. The engine is a ’74 model 400 Big Block that is mated to a 727 Auto Trans and a 8 ¾” rear end. It is dressed with Mopar Performance Valve Covers and Breather. The exhaust was updated with headers and flows. This is a factory Power Steering manual disc brake car. The floors on this Mopar are good and appear to have no visible damage. The front and rear frame rails look very solid.

This would make a great car to drive and enjoy. As I said it’s not matching numbers but the big block does make it fun to drive.
