Seven Hills Motorcars is very glad to offer this gorgeous 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible for sale. This car is looks great and is a nice driver. We purchased the car from a gentleman in Louisville, KY who was in his 90's and had owned the car for decades. We believe that the car has been in the Louisville area its entire life. The very attractive and desirable color scheme of Calumet Cream, which was a brand new color for 1976, over Antique Light Buckskin is original to the car. This is verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is pictured below. This Cadillac rolled off the assembly line during the second week of January 1976 loaded with options such as tilt and telescopic steering wheel, a/c, dual comfort 50/50 divided front seats, cruise control, remote control right mirror, and also the highly desirable parade boot for the convertible top. Please peruse all of the photos below to get a true sense of nice and clean this Eldorado really is.

Please also note that this Cadillac is "number's matching." The last six digits of the VIN, 202986, are stamped on the engine block indicated that this engine is correct and original to this particular Eldorado.

Exterior

The Calumet Cream exterior is in excellent driver condition. As one can see in the photos the paint has dazzling gloss, deep shine, and nice finish. The body is straight with no notable dents, wrinkles, or dings. This Cadillac basically looks in person just as it does in the photos. There are no major spots or blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some small spots around the car were too faint to show in in photos, but nothing that is really stands out from five or ten feet away. There is one hairline crack on the left front filler; there is a specific photo of the area below to show how unnoticeable it is. The chrome, stainless, and other bright work on the car is in nice shape with no major rust or pitting. There is a small dent in the stainless trim in front of the right window and a specific photo of the area below. The convertible top is in very good condition overall. Please note that the rear window is the correct glass and has not been replaced with a cheaper plastic window. This era Eldorado convertible is notorious for problems with the power top mechanism, however the power top on this Eldorado works pretty well and has not been an issue.

Interior

The Light Buckskin interior of this Cadillac looks great. The seats are in nice shape overall and look in person just as they do in the photos. They are not overly worn, but there is one spot on the driver's seat where the driver gets in and out; there is also a specific photo of that area below. The rear seats are in excellent condition and look like new. The carpet looks good overall with no major stains, tears, or holes; it appears as if it has been recently replaced. The door panels are in excellent shape and unlike many cars of this age, they fit very well and tight to the door. The arm pads on the door panels are not cracked or split, which is a very common problem on this era Cadillac, especially the convertibles. The power seat motor runs and the seat works in some directions. The dash does have a few small cracks and there are photos of them below. This car has been smoked in and has no aroma of cigarette smoke.

Mechanical

This car seems to be is in good mechanical condition. There are no immediate issues with the drivability of this Cadillac that I am aware of. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles well. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The car is a nice driver; it is smooth on the road and at highway speeds. The transmission shifts well throughout the power band; there is some slack in the shifter as with most all FWD Eldorados we have owed from this era. The horn, lights, turn signals, wipers, radio, speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, and the power locks still work, which is another common problem on these cars. Even the power antenna works. All of the windows work well and go up and down, but the left rear window only goes down from its switch in the rear arm rest. There are some items on the car that do not work such as the a/c, which most likely needs to be recharged as all of the components are present and the compressor is not locked up, the cruise control, and remote trunk release. As with literally every driver quality FWD Eldorado we have owned, this car has a slight noise of an exhaust leak. The car would also probably benefit from a basic tune up. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with top down on a beautiful sunny day.

Overall Condition

This Cadillac is very nice driver and priced to sell. It gets A TON of attention going down the road. The pictures reflect how the car really looks in person. Convertible Cadillac’s are highly collectible, make excellent cars to drive, and are wise investments. 1976 was a very special year for Cadillac as it was the last convertible of the era and the bicentennial year. One could enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than your purchase price. You can fit your entire family in the vehicle to take them out for the day or evening.
