  • Audi Fuel Stratified Injection direct injection delivers a precise amount of fuel directly into the engine cylinders, as opposed to intake runners, which helps ensure a more complete combustion, diminishing waste and increasing power for the amount of fuel used
  • Within the cylinder, the specially designed piston heads compress the fuel in a spiral motion to ensure the most efficient combustion possible
  • TSFI-equipped engines take advantage of significantly higher compression ratios and cylinder pressure, thus fully atomizing fuel and optimizing boost response
  • The Quattro all-wheel drive system is a dynamic hydraulic system that progressively engages depending on wheel slippage, thanks to a number of electronic controls
  • In normal driving conditions, Quattro distributes the power between the front and rear axles by sending 85 percent to the front wheels and 15 percent to the rear wheels, enhancing the driving dynamics while maintaining optimum control -- however, Quattro can shift 100 percent of the power to the rear wheels when conditions demand
  • The S tronic transmission utilizes two clutches that operate independently -- one to control the odd gears, one to control the even gears; this allows gears to be changed without changing the flow of power from the engine to the transmission; the result is a 10 percent increase in fuel efficiency
  • The S tronic transmission can be operated either automatically or manually
  • Precise handling is the product of the MacPherson front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, which provide a high level of lateral rigidity and inspire confidence in turns
