Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a seller will post all but the most flattering of photographs. We prefer to expose the complete roll of film taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional stunning and very collectible example of this 1989 Rolls Royce Corniche II Convertible drophead coupe with only 69K original miles in this rare and highly striking and most desirable gorgeous color combination of 'Black' exterior paint with contrasting painted pin-stripes and an almost virtually flawless and simply stunning interior with tan leather seats with 'Black' piping, 'Black' carpets and a matching 'Tan Everflex' soft top with a tan mohair headliner and a matching 'Tan' leather tonneau cover! An uncompromising head-turner which never fails to get compliments from all who see her!

The Corniche was Rolls Royce's coupe and convertible versions of the Silver Shadow saloon and which was produced between 1971 and 1996. The model was assembled in Crewe and finished in London at the renown Rolls Royce coachbuilders 'Mulliner Park Ward' as a continuation of their 1965 Silver Shadow coupe and 1967 drophead, with the Corniche name applied in 1971. The Corniche coupe was discontinued in 1982. Total production of the coupes (1971-82) was only 1,108 and of the convertibles (1971-87) was only 3,239. The car was reworked in 1986 as the Corniche II (with only 1,226 produced), in late 1989 as the Corniche III (with 452 produced) and in 1993 as the Corniche IV (with only 244 produced) when production was moved to Crewe after the closure of Mulliner Park Ward and the final form in 2000 was as the Corniche V after which production ceased in 2001.

This particular example is one of the renown 20,000 series, with updates including a redesigned dash with more modern instruments, an improved fuel injection system, a more robust cooling system, design improvements to the braking system, a better designed Japanese air conditioning system and anti-lock brakes; these models were introduced in mid 1987 and to distinguish this newly designed and updated series, the cars serial numbers jumped from 15,000-20,0000 and which as any enthusiast will tell you are the very best models of the breed.

This particular example was sold to its original and only southern California owner at the 'Newport Auto Center Rolls Royce & Bentley' dealership of Newport Beach, California on 4/22/1989 from where it was driven to its owners estate in Montecito, California where it was always covered and garaged. The car was initially serviced at the Newport Beach dealership until July 1993 after which it was serviced at the renown 'Muller & Goss', Rolls-Royce independent specialists of Santa Barbara, California. We recently purchased the car from the home garage of the original owner in Montecito and we have had the car serviced at our local Rolls Royce specialists, the renown 'Frank McLain & Sons' of Encino, California, prior to sale, where the car received a full service and tune up and a brand new set of tires for piece of mind turn key driving for only its second owner!

Finished in this highly striking and very desirable color combination paint with matching Rolls Royce hub cap wheels and with all the chromework, including the Rolls Royce grille, in absolutely outstanding and virtually flawless condition, this car would be virtually impossible to duplicate and you will most likely never see another one like it anywhere! The convertible top and it's headliner and matching boot (tonneau cover) are also in virtually flawless condition. The original and magnificent burled walnut woodwork is also in virtually flawless condition throughout. All the power options and electric windows are working as they should and the air conditioning system blows cold air!

This obviously always extraordinarily well maintained Rolls Royce engine runs extremely strong and these cars are not slow - the engine purrs like a kitten, never stalls or idles rough and is extremely reliable - there is plenty of power to pull away at the lights and it cruises at high speeds with absolute ease. The transmission shift is almost imperceptibly smooth and the temperature always remains cool. The Corniche is truly a sensual car that you can drive with your fingertips, smooth and relatively silent, it's thoroughly therapeutic for both drivers and passengers. The delightful precision action of the electrically powered steering column gear change and the ultra light weighted power steering allows one to park this 5000lbs of pure luxury with literally one finger and this long but actually quite slender car is anything but ponderous thanks to it's torque and brilliant turning radius! The ride is truly luxurious from a high riding position and the soft feel of the Corniche is like no other car on the road. This particular model drives particularly well and must be driven to be fully appreciated.

Without a doubt you will look long and hard to find a finer example of this rare and very collectible and super striking Corniche drophead coupe, an always garaged with no accidents and with absolutely no issues example! As previously stated the car recently received a pre-sale inspection by our renown Rolls Royce specialist mechanics, 'Frank McLain & Sons' of Encino, California and is turn key ready to drive away today.

This is one of only 1,226 Corniche II's built between 1986-89 and one of the last in the original line of cars hand built in the legendary Rolls Royce Crewe factory and then converted at their renown coachbuilder's Mulliner Park Ward, of London England with a quality and craftsmanship that far surpasses that of today's mass produced models with many BMW parts. Finished in this stunning and exclusive color combination and complete with all original owner's handbooks, manuals and factory tools; this is indeed a rare opportunity to own a piece of classic automotive history, from a time when Rolls Royce was truly building the world's finest automobiles - a great investment for the Rolls Royce enthusiast or collector or simply an outstandingly striking example of a very rare and unusual Rolls Royce for the discerning luxury classic car owner!

Please note the CARFAX report and California title issued in 8/2013 prior to sale shows a "potentially unreliable mileage reading" following a report in 1997. Upon investigation of the CARFAX report, this is a most obvious clerical error either by CARFAX or the DMV, as according to even CARFAX the mileage is absolutely consistent through all the years from 1989-2013. Please also note that we have a signed affadavit of correct & actual mileage statement from the original and only owner to support this fact that the car had 68,991 original and actual miles when purchased by us on 9/9/2013 and it currently reads 69,042 miles presently.
