1977 MGB “RUBBER BUMPER” FULLY RESTORED

    VIN GHN5UH432788G

    ENGINE # 18V883AEL012109

The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this beautifully restored, 1977 “RUBBER BUMPER” MGB. This 1977 car was the recipient of a full photo and documented restoration in 1999. She has been driven very little since, and still remains in near show condition. The original engine has correct compression, is well sorted and has great power and torque. The 4-speed Manual transmission shifts with authority, the synchros are excellent, as are the clutch and rear end. The engine compartment is nice, and, with little effort, could be brought to the next level. The exhaust system is also in excellent condition. Suspension and all brakes were replaced/restored, and she remains one of the best driving MGBs’ we have ever driven. The car was given a “BARE METAL RESPRAY”, and is absolutely stunning in its original TAHITI BLUE COLOR. The paint has great shine, no waves or ripples and a mirror-like finish. Any rust was cut out as needed and replaced with metal, and she wears new fenders. Panel fit is excellent on all doors and trunk. There is NO Bondo in this restoration. Look at the photos of the trunk, and notice the high level of finish and the integrity of the restoration. The entire car was done to this level!!! The tan soft top was recently replaced, and remains in excellent condition. the mechanism works well, and she comes with a black boot cover and full car cover. The TAN interior was also restored, including BLACK carpets and TAN seat covers. She has a gorgeous wood steering wheel, matching shift knob and a new JVC Stereo/CD player with ipod hook up, and new BOSTON ACOUSTIC speakers. She has a well applied dash cap. All mechanical systems work as they should. The rubber bumpers, chrome, lights, and all bright work were also replaced. The wheels are new, as are the tires. Well restored “rubber bumper” MGBs’ are hard to find, as the restoration cost far exceeds the value of these cars. Restored to a very high standard, this MGB must be one of the finest on the market today and can be purchased for MUCH LESS THEN THE COST OF RESTORATION. Bid with confidence, as this car needs nothing except an enthusiastic new collector/owner. Feel free to call 203 256 9800 or email Steven@classiccargallery.com if we can answer any of your questions.
