The MGB is a sports car launched by MG Cars in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coup'e with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. The six-cylinder MGC debuted in 1967; a later derivative fitted with the Buick-based Rover V8 was made from 1973 to 1976.
MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the 1972 steel bumper MG B that you see pictured. This particular MG was rescued after sitting over 10 years. It has not been touched cosmetically and has only been mechanically updated since it was resurrected. This MG would be an awesome project or just a neat driver MG for any collector. Finished in red, the paint is in good shape and shows only minor imperfections. The body is solid and sound. The tan vinyl top convertible does have a small hole behind the driver’s side window and shows a little wear from over the years. The chrome shows minor pitting throughout and there is a spot where the chrome has worn through and flaked away on the rear bumper. The car shows well but it is not a perfect car. Inside, you’ll see that the interior was finished in a complimenting brown material. The seats are wrapped in brown vinyl with a textured center insert. The seats are in good condition and show minor wear on the outer bolsters of the front seats. The carpet, door panels and dashboard are all also in good condition. The car was awoken out of its slumber and the brakes were worked on, radiator flushed, water pump rebuilt, carbs cleaned and rebuilt as needed, gas tank cleaned out, spark plugs replaced, cap & rotor replaced and a new battery installed. Under the hood, you’ll find the 4 cylinder engine that has recently been tuned up and had the carburetors cleaned. Attached to the engine is a manual transmission. This car does, in fact, have front disc brakes. The car sits upon a set of 14” wire wheels that are wrapped in P175/70R14 tires. As mentioned before, this MG is not perfect – however, it does run. It could be a great candidate for a restoration or could easily find a place in the heart of any MG collector as is – as a driver! The VIN is GHN5UC282367G and the mileage currently shows 5,872. It is being sold on a clean and clear Ohio title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
