This is a very cool looking Land Rover which unfortunately needs an engine.  It has sat around my warehouse since the beginning of the year (the pictures were taken in February).  I haven't had the time to replace the engine, and I've concluded I'm not going to any time soon...so it must go.  It could be a really cool Land Rover for the right person.  The white paint is over all shiny and in good condition, excepting the normal scratches, chips and dings you would expect.  This truck has a bunch of upgrades/add-ons including an ARB front bumper with Hella auxillary lights, as well as a rear ladder and a large roof rack.  The lift kit and big wheels/tires complete this truck's rugged look.  I have tried to capture every aspect of the truck's appearance in the photos, so be sure to check them out for the complete story. 

The interior of this truck is in over all good shape as well.  The rear bench and SE7 folding seats have been removed, and an additional storage compartment has been added as you can see from the pictures.  I don't have the missing seats.  The pictures pretty much tell the story here as well, so be sure to check them all out.  

I'm advertising this truck as needing an engine.  Here is what I know: This truck came in running/driving well, but some time after, I became aware that it had an overheating problem.  I had someone remove the heads and send them out to a machine shop.  They were tested and came back looking like new, and they were reinstalled with new bolts and a new headgasket set.  Afterwards, the truck still overheated, and also stopped running very well.  I don't know if the work was done improperly, or if the motor has something else wrong with it like a cracked block, etc.  The oil never looked contaminated to me.  In any event, at that point, my intention was to swap the engine out for a used unit, but it's just more of a project than I've had time to oversee.  This would be a great project for the right person.  Used engines are readily available.  Or the truck could be re-powered with an interesting diesel conversion, Chevy, etc. 

If you bid, please understand what you're getting.  Further, please don't ask me if you can drive it back to your house; you can't.  It will need to be trailered away.  Also, please don't ask me what's wrong with the engine or what it will take for you to fix the engine.  What I know about it is written up here.  If you have a very specific question, I'll try my best to answer it.  But, again, assume it needs a motor swap.

Terms & Conditions

1.      Before You Bid

1.1.   Read the Vehicle Description and Ask Questions.  I spend a lot of time creating my listings, and I make every effort to thoroughly, accurately and fairly describe the vehicles I offer.  If you have a specific question or concern, or if I missed something, please feel free to ask.  Please keep in mind that I sell pre-owned vehicles.  As with any pre-owned vehicle, minor cosmetic flaws may be visible under close inspection.

1.2.   Inspect the Vehicle.  I encourage you to inspect the vehicle personally or through an inspection service prior to bidding.  If you would like to inspect the vehicle, please call to make arrangements.  Most of my vehicles are kept inside.

1.3.   Be Aware That Vehicles Are Offered As Is/No Warranty Unless Stated.  Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, the vehicle is being sold “as-is”, with no warranty.  I try to accurately and fairly describe any known mechanical or cosmetic issues.  However, as with any vehicle, mechanical or other failures may occur from time to time, and I cannot represent or warranty that they will not.  You are responsible for any repairs made after the sale.   

1.4.   Mileage May Vary Slightly.  I indicate the mileage of each vehicle at the time of listing.  Please note that actual mileage may be slightly higher at the time of the end of the auction and/or delivery as the vehicle may be driven while the auction is underway. 

2.      Bidding on the Vehicle

2.1.   Ready to Bid?  If you’re ready to bid, great!  Please keep in mind a few requirements and courtesies.  Please intend to, and be ready & able to (financially and otherwise), complete the purchase of the vehicle within the timeframes set out herein.  Participating just for sport without the intention to complete the transaction is unfair to me and to other users, and it wastes a lot of time and money.  I may obtain the registered information of users participating in my auctions, and may filter or cancel any bids in my discretion.

2.2.   I May End An Auction Early.  "Buy it now" auctions may end at any time if the buy it now feature is exercised or a "best offer" is accepted.  I seldom end "no reserve" auctions early.  However, I reserve the right to end any auction without notice at any time for any reason in my sole discretion. 

3.      Completing the Transaction

3.1.   Contact Me.  If you are the winning bidder, congratulations!  You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction.  Many of my auctions end well after normal business hours, so sending me a message through eBay is generally the best way.  

3.2.   Pay a Deposit.  You must also pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. 

3.3.   Pay the Balance Due.  You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 3 days after the end of the auction.

3.4.   Payment Methods.  I accept wire transfers, cashier's checks, and cash in person (under $10,000 only). I accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only.  All funds must be in US dollars.

3.5.   Fees and Taxes.

    3.5.1.  Dealer Fee.  I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions.  This includes winning bids, buy it now prices, and best offers accepted.  I don't make exceptions for other licensed dealers.

     3.5.2.  Sales Tax.

          3.5.2.1.  Florida Buyers.  I am required to collect sales tax at the rate applicable in your county at the time of sale. 

          3.5.2.2.  Out-of-State Buyers.  If you have the vehicle shipped to your location, I do not collect any sales tax; you will be responsible for paying your state's sales tax directly.  If you come to Florida to pick up the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect either your state's sales tax, or Florida's 6%, whichever is less.  Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here.  If I collect our 6% because your state's rate is higher, you will be charged the balance in your state.  I always recommend you check with your local tag agency first; although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not.  Some states also have specific forms or procedures that must be used for out-of-state purchases.

   3.5.3.  Tag & Title.

         3.5.3.1.  Florida Buyers.  I am required to handle your tag and title work, and I collect an estimate of those costs at the time of sale, which range from $100 to $450 depending on your specific situation.  If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference before getting your tag and title.  I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect. 

         3.5.3.2.  Out-of-State Buyers.  I will provide you with the vehicle's title, and you will be responsible for handling the tag and title work in your state.

3.6.   Exchange Documents and Signatures.  There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not.  These will be discussed when you contact me initially. 

3.7.   If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me.  I expect the transaction to go smoothly.  However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion.  I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion. 

4.      Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle

4.1.   Shipping.  It is frequently less expensive to have a vehicle shipped to your location than it is to fly in and drive it back, and certainly more hassle-free.  I can assist you in finding a shipper and can get very competitive shipping quotes.  You pay the shipper directly and are responsible for delivery arrangements.  I assume no responsibility for damage to the vehicle incurred after it leaves my premises.  Your vehicle will be available to ship out once full payment is received and has cleared; I send out titles once payment has cleared and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed. 

4.2.  Pick Up.  I am located at 2645 NE 9^th Ave in Cape Coral, Florida.  I am easily accessible from US 41 and from Interstate 75.  If you plan to fly in, I will pick up at RSW - Southwest Florida Int’l Airport in Fort Myers (commercial) or FMY - Page Field in Fort Myers (private) or PGD - Charlotte County Airport (commercial & private) in Punta Gorda.  Please contact me to make arrangements if you are planning to pick the vehicle up.  Vehicles are available for drive-off once full payment and all paperwork requirements are completed.
