History

Chevrolet Task Force is the successor to the venerable Advance Design trucks, the Task Force Series ran from late 1955 through 1959. The 1955 second series offered standard options and add-ons such as 12-volt electrical systems, the first V8, and fleet-side 6-foot, 7-foot, and 8-foot-length beds.

1955 was the first year for the new body style. New "wrap-around" windshield was a truck industry first, and an optional wrap-around rear window for Deluxe cabs.

1957 was the only year for more open grille. The hood is flatter with two spears on top, similar to the 1957 Bel Air. Fender emblems are still above the fender line, but are now oval-shaped, as opposed to previous versions in script.

The previous owner of this beautiful truck owned it for 15 years and has restored it twice. All the work was done himself, as a hobby. The first restoration was done to ‘driver quality’. He decided to rebuild the truck as a ‘show quality’ vehicle about three years ago. He stripped it down to bare metal and did all the custom metal work himself. He also built the motor himself. The paint was done by a gentleman who professionally paints RV’s.
