Back in early 2013 Porsche launched the 2014 Porsche Cayman S!  This redesign of the Cayman S has won a ton of acclaim.  As I'm sure you all know since you are here looking at this beauty.  The formula for the Cayman S has always been light and efficient which is relatively similar to the Cayman's sibling the Boxster.  All in all, the Cayman is an award winner as top car in it's segment and segments above the Cayman!  You're really buying as pure of a sports car that is out there.

What changes did Porsche make?

As you all may know, every car in the market has been touched by the surge for better fuel efficiency.  This car, you'll really see the results of Porsche's engineers efforts.  Which produces more power, weighs less, outperforms and gets better fuel economy!  Which is a great combination of attributes for any car, more power and better economy.

What's new on the outside?

The redesign of the 2014 Porsche Cayman S is really a complete overhaul.  Sure, we still have a very similar silhouette, but Porsche really gave the Cayman some aggression finally!  This car is absolutely exotic!!  Porsche now uses a combination of steel and aluminum which helps the overall curb weight reduce over 44 pounds.  The wheelbase of the new Cayman has also increased another 2.5 inches and you'll also find a wider track which increases stability on the Cayman S through the corners.  Very very very good just became GREAT!

The Cayman's mid-engine layout improves the vehicles weight distribution and enhances the practicality as the cars luggage compartments have been increased dramatically.  The storage space has become much more user friendly and is much easier to access than the previous gen II Cayman. 

What about on the inside?

You'll find the same flowing center console now in the entire Porsche lineup.  The gauges include a 4.6 inch screen on your far right gauge with a trip-computer that functions as a secondary display for the navigation system.  Touch screen controls to go through all of your favorite pre-sets and more.
 

Under the bonnet

The Cayman S gets the 3.4L, 325hp flat six Boxer engine producing a adrenaline inducing episode!  Direct Fuel Injection is standard and a new auto-stop start system is also now standard for additional added economy.  Just like before, the engine is mounted behind the seats and power is injected to the rear wheels through the six speed smooth shifting manual transmission.

You'll find a lot of great options on this car as well.  Like the Porsche Active Suspension Management option which allows you to adjust the dampening on the vehicle at the push of a button.  Or the Porsche Torque Vectoring System that sends extra power to the outsider rear wheel whilst in corners to better your handling dynamics. Also, within the PTV option you also get a electronically locking rear differential.  You'll also find this vehicle has Sport Chrono Package Plus which gives you two different levels of throttle mapping "Sport" and "Sport Plus."  The latter will rev-match on your downshifts to match up the transmission with your engine speed.
 

As goes for safety, you'll find antilock brakes and an electronic stability system is standard equipment.  The Cayman S gets the same brakes that is on it's older brother the 911.  Torsional rigidity has been increased by over 40%, so let me tell you that these cars handle better than ever.  Truly better than anything else on the market!
