An anomaly in the automotive world, the Chevrolet SSR (Super Sport Roadster) convertible combined the look of a customized 1950s pickup with the rear-wheel-drive powertrain of a sports car. Based on General Motors' midsize SUV platform, the SSR had a high seating position and a trucklike ride. However, this muscular Chevy truck was no workhorse. It has two seats, a narrow pickup bed with a tonneau cover. The only sports car pick up combo ever made.
What the Chevrolet SSR does offer was a healthy dose of individuality. It looks like no other new vehicle on the road and is a pure automotive style statement. Between the larger rear wheels, low hood and dominant rear proportions (greatly enhanced by the hard bed cover), this Chevy looks as speed-crazed as any muscle car from the '60s or '70s. Its two-piece power-retractable hardtop stowed vertically between the seats and the rear storage bed, thus allowing open-air motoring while minimizing the room typically lost when a top is lowered. For a shopper looking to fill some extra space in his garage with something that boasts postwar cruiser image with modern-day hardware and reliability, the SSR is a fun choice. However only 25,000 SSRs were built from 2003-2006, which makes used examples a rare find.

Who is American Motorcycle?
American Motorcycle Trading Company was formed in 1996. We came from humble beginnings, starting out in a 6,000 sq. ft. facility across from the Cowboys Stadium. We built our business on quality relationships with quality people. After serving the DFW community for approximately seven years, we outgrew our facility. In 2003 we bought a new building in the southeast corner of Six Flags Mall, just minutes from Texas Ranger’s Ballpark. Our state of the art, 27,000 sq. ft. facility provided room for our growing business. After nine years at Six Flags Mall, we have decided to open an additional location called Texas Best Used Motorcycles in Mansfield, Texas. Look for the opening the winter of 2012!

All of our motorcycles go through a thorough inspection process. The initial inspection is referred to as a pre-buy inspection or PBI. Before we decide to purchase a motorcycle, our technicians evaluate the bike. This enables our buyer to select only the best units available. On top of that we go through a pre-delivery inspection or PDI, which is a 32 point mechanical and electrical check to insure a safe, trouble free buying experience. We sell most of our bikes to people we never meet!
