Please do not click the "Buy It Now" button if . . .

. . . your wife/husband isn't going to let you buy it.

. . . you have zero (0) feedback. If this is you, please call or email me first.

. . . you don't have the money and haven't been pre-approved for financing on this vehicle through your bank/credit union. I do not finance, but I can work with any lender of your choice.

. . . you don't have the ability or refuse to pay for this vehicle within a reasonable amount of time. This listing specifies 3 business days and that is my preference, but if you need a coupIe of extra days that is acceptable.

. . . you're not comfortable with buying a vehicle through the internet. Food for thought: You think your local used car dealership would have 100% positive ratings on each and every vehicle sold all over the world if their buyers had the ability to leave them feedback on an open forum (even after driving the vehicle a couple thousand miles)? There is a difference!

. . . you buy this vehicle and expect me to pick you up at the airport on a Sunday morning - unless you catch an early flight and want to come to worship with my family and I - it starts at 10am and that's where I'll be.

Thanks!

This is an extremely clean 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 with the legendary 5.9L "High Output" 305HP/555TQ Cummins Turbo Diesel and 48RE Heavy-Duty Automatic Transmission. This is a very tight and very solid truck that has been very well cared for and is in near mint condition inside and out. The engine is very strong and doesn't smoke, doesn't leak, and doesn't have one iota of blow-by, or make any strange noises, or anything else like that. The transmission shifts perfect. As you can tell from all the pictures, this is a very clean truck with a lot of excellent modifications that look great, but also make the truck function incredibly well. This truck gets tons of looks and thumbs up wherever it goes.

I bought this truck for myself in February of this year when it had 230k miles on it. At that point I had already purchased a Lance 815 slide-in truck camper over the winter, and I set out to build the most practical 3rd generation Dodge dually I could put together, and built with hauling the camper in mind. The first order of business was finding a truck. I looked at a bunch of trucks before finding this one. I didn't care if it had 50k or 550k miles - I just wanted the "right" truck. I'm beyond picky when it comes to my personal vehicles and I care the most about condition and maintenance. This truck has only had two owners before me, and the second owner actually bought it in 2004 with 22k miles on it, and traded it in at Sewell GMC with 230k miles, and I got it from Sewell. There weren't ever any modifications done to this truck at all before I got it - it was simply babied and extremely well-maintained, and looked almost exactly as it did whenever it rolled off the assembly line. The drivetrain is still 100% stock (no chip, no programmer, no air intake, etc.). The paint is 100% original. The Carfax is 100% clean. It has always lived in Texas since new so it's 100% rust-free from top to bottom. The second owner had his own metal fabrication shop in west Texas, but this was his own personal truck (NOT his work truck). He kept it indoors inside his warehouse anytime it wasn't being driven. Because of that, you'll notice that the truck has been kept in excellent condition. The dash is original and in perfect condition (no cracks). The upholstery is excellent. The paint shines great. Since I've owned the truck, it's spent very few nights outside as well.

There hasn't ever been any performance modifications done this truck. You can make an incredible amount of power with this engine, and the transmission has been built to stay reliable for a long time, even with a significant power increase. So the platform is there if you want to increase the power substantially. However, big power was not what I was personally after when I built this truck, so I didn't pursue it. What I wanted was rock solid reliability, and that's exactly what this truck is.

This particular truck is considered by many to be the "holy grail" of the 3rd generation Dodge diesels, which are quickly becoming far more sought after than the earlier 2nd generation Ram with the 12-valve Cummins because of these trucks' dependability and creature comforts, among many other improvements. This is an early 2004 model, and this particular Cummins diesel engine was only built for the 2003 and early 2004 trucks. This is the engine that always gets the best fuel mileage, lasts the longest, and makes the most power the most dependably than just about any other Cummins ever made. These early 2004's never had a catalytic converter from the factory, nor do they have the third injection event (for emissions control as on the late 2004 and newer). What makes this truck even more rare is that it's a factory High Output engine, so it's rated at 305 Horsepower and 555 LB-FT of Torque.

Here is a list of the maintenance I've had done to this truck since I bought it in February 2013 (only 4k miles ago):

- ALL U-Joints (front axle and both driveshafts) replaced with Dana Spicer Non-Greaseable/Sealed U-Joints

- Upper and Lower Front Ball Joints replaced with Moog Problem Solver Ball Joints

- Injector #2 replaced with new factory Bosch injector

- New Fan Clutch

-New Front and Rear Brake Rotors, Pads, and Inner Axle Seals

- New Blower Motor Resistor

- Front and Rear Differentials Serviced with New Synthetic Fluid

-Transfer Case Serviced with New Synthetic Fluid

- New Completely Rebuilt Transmission from Bob Westmoreland with all new drums, seals, Torque Converter, internal bushings, bands, etc. (also a very slight shift kit for heat dissipation and extended durability)

- New Four Wheel Alignment

- New Transfer Case Selector Motor

- New Water Pump

- New Oil and Filter Change

- New Fuel Filter

And here is a list of the brand new aftermarket parts that I've added:

- Centramatic Dynamic Wheel Balancers

- Alcoa 17" Forged Aluminum Wheels

- ALL SEVEN New LT285/70/17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain Tires (Load Range E)

- Road Rhino Front Bumper

- Warn M12000 Winch with Warn Industrial Strength Roller Fairlead

The interior is immaculate. Everything looks great and the upholstery is in excellent condition. All the power options work perfect. The A/C is cold and the Heat is hot. No strange smells, just very clean and well kept. Never smoked in. All original manuals, keys and remotes, etc.

The exterior is just as nice. All original paint and no evidence of any accidents (the Carfax Report is perfectly clean). No rust or corrosion anywhere top or bottom. A few tiny dings and paint scuffs (I've included close-up pictures of the worst), but you'll have to look close to find them. Also the previous owner spilled some chemical on the passenger dually fender and it stained the paint slightly in one small area (close-up picture included). Truck really looks absolutely amazing.

So, why in the world would I ever sell this truck? My family loves to go camping and I thought this would be the perfect setup for us, but after only two trips with the slide-in camper we realized it was just too small for us with our 2 kids. So, I sold the camper several weeks ago and now I've comes to terms with the fact that I truly have no use for this much truck. I've built several Dodge diesels over the years, and I know what works and what doesn't. Any modifications I have done were only to capitalize on what is already an excellent truck and make it work even better. There's no way anyone could build this nice of a truck and do this much preventative maintenance for this price, but I obviously didn't buy it to make money on. That means my loss is your incredible gain. I've put many many thousands of dollars into this truck in maintenace and modifications, and that's after starting with the nicest stock truck I could find, and buying many of the parts at my wholesale cost. This truck is an excellent value.

The bottom line is this truck is truly ready to go anywhere and do anything you want to do with it. If you'd like to fly in and drive it home, I'll personally bring it to you at the airport when you arrive. If you need it shipped, I can arrange that for you too.
