The Porsche 993 was manufactured and sold from late 1993 through early 1998. Like previous and future generations of the Porsche 911, there were several variants of the car manufactured, varying in body style, drive trains, and included equipment. The external design of the Porsche 993, penned by Englishman Tony Hatter, used the basic body shell architecture of the 964, but with changed external panels, with much more flared wheel arches and a smoother front and rear bumper design, an enlarged retractable rear wing, teardrop mirrors, but keeping the doors and roof panels. The Cabriolet, introduced in 1994 for the 1995 model year, features a fully electrical and hand-stitched soft top reinforced with metal sheets and an automatic wind blocker. The ’97 Porsche 911 Cabriolet you see here is a very nice, original car that currently shows only 78,400 miles. Finished in its original color or Arctic Silver with Black Leather interior and black soft top this is one of the most desirable color combinations you will find. The paint on the car is in very good, original condition with no signs of paint work that we have found. There are a few nicks and chips, mainly to the front bumper but this just shows the originality of the car. The power soft top operates with no problems and is in great condition. The plastic rear window shows no staining or damage. Inside, the black leather interior is in very good original condition with no significant wear. The black comfort seats are in good, original condition with only some minor wear showing to the driver’s side seat bolster. Both seats are power. The carpet is in good condition with on notable wear as is the steering wheel, dash and door panels. There has been an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player installed as well as a JL Audio amp under the front hood. The car has the optional heated mirrors as well. The flat 6 under the rear bonnet runs great and is connected to the 4 speed Tiptronic transmission. The engine starts with a turn of the key and the transmission shifts as it should. There has been an aftermarket exhaust system installed which sounds great. The engine compartment is very clean and original with on damage. There has recently been a brand new battery installed in the car as well as new Good Year Eagle F1 tires all around. These are wrapped around the optional 18” Porsche wheels. The calipers have been painted red. Theses last of the air cooled cars are becoming harder to find as collectors and enthusiasts alike are picking them up and not letting go because they optimize the true pinnacle of the 911. They are wonderful driving cars with a timeless design and sound. The current mileage shows 78,675 and is actual for the car. VIN number is WP0CA2997VS341852.
