1964 Toyota FJ45 4x4. Attention Collectors. VERY RARE SHORTBED! Barn Find. One Owner. Mechanical Restoration.

You are looking at an INCREDIBLY RARE ORIGINAL SHORT bed FJ45 Pickup Truck . It is believed that this ONE FAMILY OWNER FJ45 is still sporting its original paint!  This model is one of the rarest of all imported toyotas. This is the left hand drive, short wheel base, short bed pickup truck. The rarest of all toyota 4x4s. You see the wagons and the longbeds, but NEVER the short beds. Estimated that only 1100 short beds were produced and most have rusted away and given themselves back to the earth. This is a very rare chance to see one, let alone own a good survivor.  Copy of the Classic title and ORIGINAL owners manual included.

This Toyota was purchased new in 1964 in Boulder, CO where it has lived ever since. -Truck was used by the original female purchaser around her property in the base of the dry rocky mountains for approximately 24 years.

-Truck was then tucked away in her barn for 20 years.

-Truck was then pulled out of the barn by her kids in 2008 where it then went through a full mechanical restoration.

MECHANICS:

-EVERYTHING IS 100% ready to roll mechanically! EVERYTHING WORKS! Thats right, wipers, headlights, signals, 4 wheel drive, winch, windows (roll and rear dual slide), original heater, etc.

-When the family pulled it out of the barn the compression on the original 6 cylinder motor was sub par. In 2008, a fully rebuilt Chevy 350 and rebuilt 1978 Land Cruiser 4 speed transmission (stock shifting) was added for better performance and functionality. The motor and transmission has approximately 15,000 miles on it.

-At the same time as the motor and transmission, a 1978 land cruiser front and rear differential installed with front disc brakes.

-Original era 1958 Warn Winch looks great and functions like new.

COSMETICS:

-Cab is incredibly straight and is free of any rot / cancerous rust. Again, truck was purchased new in Boulder, CO and has limited exposure to humidity or salt roads, etc. It is one of the cleanest cabs out there. See detailed pictures of the surface rust.

-The short bed cab is one of the best surviving cabs out there, however, “best surviving” still comes with rust after almost 50 years. There is some cancer in the bed and tailgate. This includes some rot on passenger side rail, rust on two of the support members near the cab and some rust underneath on drivers side cross member of the BED only. See detailed pictures of ALL of the rust areas. NOTE: Original bed can be repaired with some body work and welding or they make replacement beds and tailgates for $2500 (Aluminum for $3500).

-The frame is in excellent condition and is solid as can be. Only surface rust. No rotting or cancer anywhere on frame.

-Seats have been reupholstered and are in great shape other than a rip on the left hand lower side of the drivers seat.

-Glass is all in EXCELLENT condition with no cracks or chips. Sliding glass in rear all functioning.

-Rubber is in good shape with no major age / weather cracking.

-Tires have plenty of treat.

-Wheels are in good shape with no rust.

Availability in the US was limited to the years 1963 to 1967. The 45 Longbed has a square bed with tie-down loops on the sides and a removable hard top. We do not recommend driving a classic car home.

Old cars are just that, old cars. You need to ship it home. Out on the road, many miles from home is not the place to get familiar with your old car. Obviously we cannot stop you, but this is our recommendation.

Mileage is Exempt.

Unless we have some documentation we always sell classic cars as mileage exempt. That means we do not know the original miles. What we list in the ad is what the odometer currently reads or is based off rebuild information of the engine and or body/chassis. Also, you cannot do a Carfax or Autocheck on any VEHICLE older than a 1981.

You have to call us with any questions. If you email several questions we will tell you to call. If you are serious about buying a vehicle, you need to call us.
