In the 911 Turbo Cabriolet, as in all of Porsche's the car is wrapped in a plethora of luxury car aesthetics. That at first glance may look like this is a pure luxury car, but keep in mind that this car is an absolute racing machine.

The interior of this feels minimalistic, although Porsche doesn't forget to cross any of their t's and definitely dots all of their i's. So, use the incredibly smooth 5 speed automatic tiptronic transmission and shift it into drive. Taking a cruise around town you'll find that the 2008 911 Turbo Cabriolet is very calm and has pretty spectacular manners on an everyday drive. When you look at how accessible all of the controls are, you'll find that the comfort and adjustability of the seats and steering is easy and precise. Even though minimalistic, the 911 Turbo does have absolutely all the goodies that any sports car enthusiast would want.

With the windows up and top up you'll find that the cabin is very quiet. It might not be like our new Panamera in terms of overall silence inside the car. So, would one say that this is a grand touring car? Maybe. Would one say that this is the flagship of all Porsche's? Most likely. We do think that this is the ultimate compromise between sport and touring model for the 911. Have a little need for speed?

For those of you that would like a little peace and quiet, then you'll have to roll around with the windows up. Because with the windows down on this turbo you'll be priviledged enough to hear a bass grumbling in the rear of the car. It's truly a spectacular sound that is quite intoxicating!

Aerodynamics are for more than just being quiet. The main function would be speed and agility, which a large portion of that comes from the signature rear wing. Which on the coupe rises at 75 mph and lowers at 50 mph. This rear wing will give the coupe downforce that it very much needs. Also, those aerodynamics also helps with your economy which should get you about 20 combined or even up to 27 mpg on the highway.

In terms of performance, look towards the dash and you'll find a little button labeled "sport." Go ahead and press it! Now, you'll have a incredibly aggressive throttle map in the ecu that will allow the exhaust to billow louder and that throttle response to be even more precise. You'll find that the little "sport" button will transform this car into a racing behemoth. Once you buy the car, definitely push that sport button a time or two thousand. It's intoxicating!!

You will also find to the right of the sport button a button for your PASM. Acronym for? Porsche Active Suspension Management. Which will give you greater stability through the turns when activated, also will give you a much more taut ride as well. It's a must for a car that has these dual capabilties of street and track.

Keep in mind that in every Porsche you (the driver) should have some comfort in knowing that Porsche has a computerized stability and traction control system that are always managing and modulating your driving style.

When you drive this icon what does it truly feel like. Well, hopefully if you are reading this you've driven and found something along these lines and gotten a feel for it. However, if you haven't read on. . . it feels as calm as a warm spring day when you want the car to be. Or can feel as hard as a surge of a jet engine in a 777 about to take off on the roll. Will this push you back into your seat? Absolutely! Will you love it? We think so! We even think that you could tell your neighbors that you just purchased a plane.
