The Ford Mustang is an automobile manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. It was initially based on the platform of the second generation North American Ford Falcon, a compact car. Introduced early on April 17, 1964, and thus dubbed as a "1964 1/2 " model by Mustang fans, the 1965 Mustang was the automaker's most successful launch since the Model A. The Mustang has undergone several transformations to its current fifth generation. The Mustang created the "pony car" class of American automobiles - sports car-like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks - and gave rise to competitors such as GM's Chevrolet Camaro, AMC's Javelin, as well as Chrysler's revamped Plymouth Barracuda and the first generation Dodge Challenger. The Mustang is also credited for inspiring the designs of coup'es such as the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri, which were imported to the United States. The 1967 Mustang brought the first major redesign. Although it was longer and wider, the Mustang kept the same wheel base of 108 inches. The grille opening was made larger to give the Mustang a meaner look as the rear taillight panel was concave. The fastback now reached all the way to the rear of the trunk, and on all three models you could find simulated panel scoops on the rear quarters. Optional front disc brakes came with power assist, and the '67 Mustang was the first vehicle to use a dual hydraulic system. The front suspension was also redesigned and widened to give the car an overall smoother ride. This particular 1967 Mustang Convertible has benefitted from a recent restoration and shows extremely well today. It has been refinished in Bright Red with two White stripes down the center of the hood which is in great condition. Both front and rear chrome bumpers are in very good overall condition with no damage or major pitting to speak of. The hood has two hood pins but still has the normal hood hinges for easy opening and closing of the hood. The interior has been refinished in two tone red and white vinyl and looks very good. The seats show no rips or tears. The red carpet and color matched dash are both in great shape with no major imperfections. The matching two tone door panels are equally as nice. All of the original style gauges are still in the dashboard and look great. There is even an original style Mustang AM/FM/Cassette Player in the dash! The interior as a whole is incredibly beautiful and is sure to turn heads! Under the hood you will find a 302 cubic inch V8. The engine is nicely detailed and sits in a tidy engine bay. With the turn of the key, the engine roars with no problems. Mated to the 302 is an automatic transmission. The Mustang sits upon a set of 17” American Racing 5 spoke wheels that are wrapped in P215/45R17 tires in the front and P225/50R17 tires in the rear. Mileage currently shows 1,122, which represents mileage since restoration and the VIN number is 7R03T126068. The car is being sold on a clean Missouri title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
