The Plymouth Road Runner was a performance car built by the Plymouth division of the Chrysler Corporation in the United States between 1968 and 1980. In 1968, the first muscle cars were, in the opinion of many, moving away from their roots as relatively cheap, fast cars as they gained options. Although Plymouth already had a performance car in the GTX, designers decided to go back to the drawing board and reincarnate the original muscle car concept. Plymouth wanted a car able to run 14-second times in the quarter mile and sell for less than $3000. Both goals were met, and the low-cost muscle car hit the street. The success of the Road Runner would far outpace the upscale and lower volume GTX, with which it was often confused. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the beautifully restored, completely badass 1969 Plymouth Road Runner you see pictured. This car has gone through a complete, nut & bolt body off restoration and it is very obvious that not one aspect of the restoration was overlooked! Finished in red, the paint is in excellent condition, showing very few minor imperfections. The body is straight and solid. The hood is finished in black and has four hood pins to hold it in place instead of hinges. In typical Road Runner fashion, you can find the Road Runner decals all over the exterior and interior of the car. This muscle car is sure to turn heads anywhere it goes, whether it is cruising on a Friday night or at the track! Inside, the car is very reminiscent of 1969 with very few clues that it has been restored. The seats are wrapped in black vinyl and in great condition, showing no signs of wear or imperfection. The black carpet, door panels and headliner are all in great condition as well. The dashboard is in great condition and still houses the original gauges; however, an aftermarket tach with a shift light has been installed above the steering column and an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player with upgraded speakers has been added to make this car just a touch more modern. The horn goes with the Road Runner motif and even has a “meep meep” sound to it! Under the hood, you’ll find the massive 440 cubic inch with a 6-pack, which obviously was Chrysler’s ULTIMATE street motor! Attached to the V8 is an automatic transmission. This car is not only insanely fun to drive, but it drives awesome! This car is equipped with power steering. Inside, there is a kill switch attached to the light switch to start the car. The Road Runner sits upon a set of 15” black steel wheels wrapped in P235/70R15 red line tires in the front and P275/60R15 street radials in the rear. While this awesome car is a real Roadrunner, as noted by the “RM” in the VIN, it is not a numbers matching car. It started life as a 383 car, but is far from that now. The car does not have a fender tag or build sheet. The VIN is RM23H9G304490 and the mileage currently shows 67,720. It is being sold on a clean and clear Missouri title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
