Styled like a roadster of the 1930s, but redone in the mode of the '50s, the Prowler looks like no other modern car on the road. Motorcycle-type front fenders, for instance, moved along with the front wheels. Like the Viper before it, Prowler had been a show car--but one later made ready for the street. Appearances aside, the Prowler's technology was strictly up-to-date. About 900 pounds of aluminum were used--in the hood, front side panels, doors, rear deck, frame, bumpers, front-suspension wishbones, and seat frames. Plastic was used for rear body panels, rocker panels, and front fenders. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the car you see here; an immaculate 2,848 original mile 2001 Plymouth Prowler. With incredibly low miles, chrome wheels and sleek looks, the car is loaded with everything you need in a collector piece. This particular Prowler is known as the Mulholland Edition, named after the famous street in Los Angeles. The original Prowler Midnight Pearl Coat paint on the car, complete with an accenting blue pinstripe, is in excellent condition and we are hard pressed to find imperfections. The pinstripe was hand painted by Dr. Ru, however these editions are not numbered. The dark blue canvas convertible top looks pristine and goes up and down with no issues. No rock chips to the glass. The retro theme continued into the interior, which features a full complement of gauges at the center of the dashboard, in an elliptical pod. A tachometer is mounted atop the steering column, simulating the look of aftermarket speed equipment. Standard equipment included air conditioning, a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, 6-disc CD changer, and a defroster for the convertible top's glass rear window. Power windows, locks, and mirrors also were standard. Under the hood, the 3.5 liter V6 runs great and propels this roadster to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds. Attached to the engine is a 4-speed automatic transmission. With a weight of just over 2,800 pounds, the car is a blast to drive and has a great exhaust note coming from the dual exhaust. The VIN number for the car is 1C3EW65G21V702536 and the current mileage shows only 2,848 miles. The car is being sold on a clean & clear, actual mileage Illinois title, showing the miles at 2,601 in April of 2013. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
