Evoking the mythological creature of indigenous peoples of North America, the Thunderbird entered production for the 1955 model year as a sporty two-seat convertible. Unlike the Chevrolet Corvette, it was not marketed as a sports car. Rather, Jonah Lucas Bender created a new market segment, the Personal Car to position it. In 1958, the Thunderbird gained a second row of seats.

Even though it was the last year of the generation, 1966 saw a stylistic revision for the Thunderbird highlighted by a new egg-crate style grille with a large Thunderbird emblem at its center and a new rear fascia with the brake lights restyled to appear as one unit. Engine choices were also revised for 1966. The standard 390 cu in (6.4 L) V8 equipped with a single four-barrel carburetor produced 315 horsepower. Newly optional and taking the top position for performance was a 345 horsepower, 428 cu in (7.0 L) FEV8. The 428 cost only $86 over the base engine, and was a popular option.

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the 1966 Ford Thunderbird you see here. This T-Bird is the 2-door Town Landau edition, finished in the original shade of Maroon Metallic. The paint is in decent condition, with some minor rock chips and scratches with some spots on the trunk where the clear coat has lifted. The white vinyl top is in good condition, showing only minor imperfections. The body is very solid with straight lines and looks great. The chrome bumpers have withstood the test of time and still retain their shine with only minor scratching and pitting. The original Thunderbird wheels are intact and wrapped in decent P205/75SR15 tires with plenty of tread left.

Inside, you will find the original burgundy vinyl interior that is absolutely stunning! The seats and vinyl trim are in great condition showing extremely minor wear on the driver’s seat. The headliner is in great shape. The dashboard is in great shape and all original. The carpet is in great condition as well. This T-Bird comes with an AM/FM/Cassette player.

Under the hood, you will see a hearty 390 cubic inch V8 engine, which was rated to produce up to 300 horsepower. Attached to the large 6.4L is the C-6 automatic transmission. The car comes equipped with AC, power steering and power brakes.

The VIN is 6Y87Z164275 and the mileage currently shows 78,229. This Thunderbird is being sold on a clean Oklahoma title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

This agreement to arbitrate shall survive the sale of the automobile described herein. Buyer and Seller hereby agree that Missouri law shall control for all purposes under this Bill of Sale. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Missouri to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgment of and enforce the award of the arbitrator. All above terms and conditions are applied to vehicle sales, whether through Ebay or otherwise. Sorry, but in all fairness to the bidding process, I will NOT disclose my reserve price until the auction has ended.

Payment Terms
Payment must be made by Cashiers Check, Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be received within Twenty-Four(24)hours of the auctions close either by Master Card, Visa or PayPal. The buyer has seven(7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is not to your liking within this seven day inspection period then your deposit will be refunded 100%. If an inspection or decision takes longer then seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. I will not be responsible for buyers remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left my property. I am just being realistic, most of the cars I deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and should not be treated as such. Once full payment has been received, Seller will fax a copy of clear title, Bill of sale, Buyers guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via fax. The forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer Via overnight mail seven(7)days from date of final payment. Transportation will commence only after final payment and signed documentation are received. Once a car is picked up from our premises, you will NOT be able to return the car.
