This 1964 Chrysler New Yorker is ready to rock. Big torque is on tap from the original 413cid V8, and power is put to the wheels through the 3-speed push-button automatic transmission. It’s a fun, reliable, and highly original example of classic Chrysler funkiness, and it gets attention all over town.

The original black paint complements the bold styling well. From a strictly cosmetic standpoint, the car is overdue for a re-spray, but we like the originality of the car just the way it sits. There are spots on the body where light surface rust shows through the paint, but there is no rot on the body, making this a great candidate for an easy restoration.

The undercarriage is in great shape, too. Light surface rust along the rocker panels and one small rust hole in each of the front floorpans are the only real signs of age, as this car was garaged its whole life. The frame rails are very solid and need no attention.

The interior has held up well. The seats are upholstered in the original blue cloth and vinyl, and while both the front and rear seats have tears, they are comfortable, fully usable, and repairable for an owner who wishes to maintain the originality of the car.

Overall, this is a very solid and highly original New Yorker. It’s ready for a cosmetic restoration, if you want to bring it back to its original appearance, but it’s also a cool, fast, and fully functional relic just the way it sits.
