MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present one of the most original, un-restored cars on the planet – the 1971 Dodge Challenger you see pictured. Most muscle cars were subject to racing, abusive driving and rust throughout their lives … this particular Mopar was not. All numbers and body panels are original. This one has had adult ownership its entire life! The original build sheet was found placed under the front driver’s carpet and there is STILL a build sheet under the back seat springs! This is without question, one of the most original RT’s you’ll ever find! This muscle car is a true California car with a documented owner history and has only had three owners in its 42 years! It was purchased new in California and then was moved to Arizona in the early 80’s, where it still resides. The last owner was an older gentleman who owned the car for 27 years who kept the Challenger in his garage for 24 years! They’re only original ONCE! Originally painted Butterscotch, it was repainted over 30 years ago to Bronze by the 2nd Arizona owner. As the car has been kept original, the bronze paint is a little dull on the exterior and the original butterscotch color is still visible under the hood and in the trunk. It is a shame that the car had been painted in the past, however not much can be done about that. All of the body panels are indeed original to the vehicle. The black vinyl top is original! This particular car has an extremely rare large chrome trim piece around the front end – less than 3% of Challengers built received this option! Every single number on this Challenger is correct. This is the REAL deal! The entire interior is original with the exception of the dome light and the trunk floor mat. The interior contains the original dashboard, carpets, glass, seat belts, instrument panel, door panels, headliner, seats, everything! The driver’s seat bottom was reupholstered due to a tear, but is done in the correct vinyl and looks stunning along with the rest of the interior surfaces. Under the hood, you’ll find that the original, numbers matching 1971 383ci, 4 barrel carburetor engine has been rebuilt by a Chrysler mechanic, along with the 3-speed automatic transmission. There are ZERO miles on the fresh engine & transmission. Receipts are included for these rebuilds. The only non-original parts pertaining to the engine include the air cleaner (which is correct for the car), the oil pan (which is off of a ’71 383) and the new Holley 4150 carburetor (which replaces the original 4150 that came with the car). Everything else under the hood is ORIGINAL! This Challenger came equipped with factory AC, power steering and power brakes. This Challenger does have new tires as well. All components, as mentioned, are numbers matching! This is the real deal. It’s not often that the general public has the opportunity to purchase an all original, never restored 1971 Dodge 383 Magnum Challenger RT/SE! This is such a special car that it is still located in Arizona to preserve its original state. We encourage buyers to not be intimidated by this, fly to Arizona and we can pick you up to view the car. Included is the original build sheet and receipts. Muscle cars that are all original are impossible to find. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
