General Motors' first major redesign post-World War II, the Advance Design series was billed as a bigger, stronger, and sleeker design. First available on Saturday June 28, 1947, these trucks were sold with various minor changes over the years until March 25, 1955, when the Task Force Series trucks replaced the aging Advance Design model. From 1947 until 1955, Chevrolet trucks were number one in sales in the United States. A few changes occurred in 1950, new telescopic shock absorbers replace lever-action type. 1950 was the last year for driver's side cowl vent; its handle is now flat steel, not a maroon knob as in previous years. 1950 also brought new serial number codes: HP 1/2 ton, HR 3/4 ton, & HS 1 ton. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the beautiful 1950 Chevrolet Pickup you see pictured. This particular era of trucks is also referred to as the “Advance Design” series which was built to be bigger, stronger and sleeker than ever before. The ’50 you see here has benefitted from a tasteful restoration and looks stunning! Finished in two tone metallic burgundy, the paint is excellent condition and we are hard pressed to find imperfections! The body is in excellent condition and looks like it did back in its prime. This truck came equipped with running boards and an oak wood bed floor that has been recently replaced and looks stunning! The chrome on the truck looks great and appears to have either been replaced or re-chromed in the recent past. Overall, this truck shows tremendously well. Inside, the truck has been finished in gray. The seats are wrapped in a gray cloth/vinyl combination which looks excellent. There are no notable signs of wear or imperfections to be found on the seat. The door panels, headliner and carpet are all in great shape as well. The dashboard appears to remain original and looks awesome. There has been a newer GM AM/FM/Cassette added to the dashboard. Under the hood, you’ll find a clean engine bay. The 235 cubic inch Inline 6 engine, casting number 3837004 is attached to a manual transmission.
