Jack Roush Performance Engineering, established by former Ford engineer Jack Roush in 1976, had been known for providing performance racing parts, vehicles and engines. In 1995, Roush Performance Products was formed offering aftermarket performance parts, vehicles and crate engines for street use. The company introduced three packages for the Mustang. Stage 1 came with 17-inch wheels, a lowered suspension and a side-mounted exhaust system. In addition, it came with an air dam, side skirts and a rear spoiler. Stage 2 was an upgraded Stage 1 with 18-inch alloy wheels and BFGoodrich Comp T/A Tires. The suspension was extensively modified with Bilstein shocks, High-rate springs, stiffer anti-roll bars and new control arms. Roush claimed it achieved 1.0g lateral acceleration and was on par with the Porsche 911 Turbo. Both Stage 1 and Stage 2 came with V6 or V8 engine options. The top of the line was the Stage 3, with 360 hp and 375 ft-lb of torque. The Stage 3 platform was essentially a heavily modified Mustang GT. The Ford 4.6 L V8 was upgraded with a Roush optimized supercharger, a new intake manifold, high performing fuel injectors, an air-to-water intercooler and a lighter flywheel (on the manual transmission only). The Stage 3 was available in three packages: Sport, Rally and Premium.

In 2001, there were only 176 Roush Stage 3 Edition Mustangs made, 14 of which were black convertibles. This gorgeous convertible packs a serious punch under the hood with a Roush supercharged 4.6 liter 2 valve engine!

Finished in black, the paint is in excellent condition. The body is as solid as the day it came off the production line. As the Mustang is a special edition, it has a Cobra hood, Roush Stage 3 Front Fascia and a Roush Stage 3 Badging System. When the convertible top is down, the Convertible Styling Bar, a $900 option, remains up and gives the car a sporty look. Overall, this is a truly spectacular convertible … and a rare one at that!

Open up the driver’s door to this car and sit in the seat and you will think to yourself that this is a brand new car. The black leather seats are in excellent. The rear seats appear to have hardly been sat in. The original Roush floor mats, which were a $130 option back in 2001, are still intact with the car and look excellent. The leather wrapped steering wheel is in just as nice shape and you can truly tell that this car has only been driven just shy of 14,850 miles in the past 12 years! The carpet and door panels are all in great condition as well and you will have a blast driving this car! It does have the upgraded Mach 460 sound system with 6 disc in dash CD changer, as well as Roush gauges in the center of the dash that keep track of the boost and fuel pressure, which look great. Just below the CD player, you’ll find a Roush Stage 3 plaque that states the Mustang’s Roush serial number, #01-0043. This particular car has power windows, power locks, power convertible top and cruise control.

Under the hood, you’ll find the famous 4.6L, 2 valve engine boasting a Roush Supercharger and intercooler. This particular engine is capable of producing up to 360 horsepower and 375 foot pounds of torque! The engine also has a Roush Stage 3 fuel system, Roush aluminum flywheel and unique Roush Certified OBD II calibration. Attached to the blown engine is a 5 speed manual transmission, which puts your totally in control of all the power! Under the car, you’ll find Roush tuned Stage 3 suspension and subframe connectors. The convertible sits upon a set of 18” chrome Roush wheels that are wrapped in P265/35ZR18 BF Goodrich tires in the front and P295/35ZR18 BF Goodrich tires in the rear. The car also has four wheel Roush disc brakes all the way around.

Sorry, but in all fairness to the bidding process, I will NOT disclose my reserve price until the auction has ended.

Payment Terms
Payment must be made by Cashiers Check, Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be received within Twenty-Four(24)hours of the auctions close either by Master Card, Visa or PayPal. The buyer has seven(7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is not to your liking within this seven day inspection period then your deposit will be refunded 100%. If an inspection or decision takes longer then seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. I will not be responsible for buyers remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left my property. I am just being realistic, most of the cars I deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and should not be treated as such. Once full payment has been received, Seller will fax a copy of clear title, Bill of sale, Buyers guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via fax. The forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer Via overnight mail seven(7)days from date of final payment. Transportation will commence only after final payment and signed documentation are received. Once a car is picked up from our premises, you will NOT be able to return the car.
