Real 1971 383 4bbl 300hp ‘Cuda convertible with the following factory options: A/C, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power top! This is a true 383 4bbl automatic convertible with 38,405 actual miles! Build sheet is included (See pictures). VIN BS27N1B126691 The vehicle is in spectacular condition inside and out and the paint is beautiful. Absolutely no rust, no issues. We have a 2004 Arizona Title that shows 38245 actual miles. The car sold in 2005 at Barrett Jackson for approximately $106,000 (Google the VIN) and remained in personal collections until we lucked upon it. One year and a small fortune later, it’s as close to perfect as we could make it. It’s now for sale! We also have a numbers matching 1971 real V code 440 6 pack Roadrunner for sale on eBay if Mopars are your deal.
I’ve taken all the codes straight from the build/broadcast sheet: (See Pictures)
Engine code E65 383 4bbl 300hp with a D32 Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission, both were just rebuilt to exacting factory standards with all of the correct parts, no expense spared. The rear end is D56/A36 with a 3.55 ratio and D91 Sure Grip Axle. It is a true H51 Factory AC car, true P37 Power Top car, true P31 power window car, with true factory S77 Power Steering and B41 + B51 true Factory Power Brake car with Factory front discs.
The exterior of the vehicle was originally GF3 Amber Sherwood but is now FC7 Plum Crazy. It is an original L34 car with Road Lights, L31 Fender Mounted turn signals, and everything works as it should. Other factory options include M25 Wide Sill and M26 Wheel Lip Molding and the M88 Decklid Molding treatment. It has very nice G11 Tinted glass (all) and came with a G33 OS LH Remote Racing Mirror. If you look at the pictures, you will notice we have added the matching RH manual chrome racing mirror. At some point prior to us acquiring the vehicle, a Shaker Hood was added. You could not get both factory air conditioning and a Shaker Hood from the factory. This car originally came with a H51 Factory AC and a J54 Sport Hood with J45 Hood Pins. In order for everything to work, we had the bottom of the Shaker Hood notched (which you can’t see unless you look from under the vehicle) to make room for the factory A/C compressor and we custom fabricated new AC lines to fit. When we acquired the vehicle, it had been sitting in a personal museum for quite a while so we had to refurbish almost every part in the A/C system to get it working properly. We also spent a small fortune adding color coded front and rear elastomeric bumpers, which fit perfectly.
The interior is a C55 Bucket Seat Car with C16 Woodgrain console and a beautiful S83 Woodgrained Rim Blow Steering Wheel (See pictures, it’s spectacular). The 1971 H6XW White Vinyl seat covers come with the car but they are in a box as we opted for a brand new set of 1970 White leather covers. The buyer gets both. It has a factory P37 Power V3W White convertible top (and boot) which works perfectly in both directions. The car is also equipped with the A01 light package and we went so far as to find the correct lens for the glove box. Everything on the A62 Rallye Instrument Cluster works including the N85 tachometer. Sadly, the clock does not work.
The car has the R36 Cassette Radio with R33 microphone. We had the unit and microphone refurbished and it all works as it should.
We are sure we left a lot of stuff out of this description, and we look forward to your comments and encourage suggestions from Mopar nation. This ‘Cuda fires right up, runs like a dream, the a/c works, all the power windows work, the power top works, the power steering and power front disc brakes work and the paint is show quality. Sorry, but we didn’t leave much for you to do!
This is the long and short of everything we know about the provenance of the vehicle. The car is a very highly optioned vehicle with a build sheet to back it up. When we bought the car, the vehicle was represented as actual miles, and the 2004 Arizona title would support that and that is also our evidence of actual miles. Again, the build sheet comes with the car and it is in great shape as far as build sheets go, but…for example, we can’t read under the black crayon writing as to whether it originally came with a rear spoiler. The pictures pretty much tell the story. The reproduction window sticker and fender tags are not original to the car but represent the car as it sits today. They also came with the car when we bought it. From what we have found online, we believe the vehicle sold at Barrett Jackson in 2005 as having a numbers matching engine, but when we pulled the engine to go through it, in addition to the correct VIN, there is a 1970 stamp. Therefore, we are not selling this car as matching numbers despite being told by several sources that this has been known to happen. We will tell you that it is rebuilt to the highest degree (and expense) possible back to the original HP specs. The transmission is a 1972 HP tranny and it too was rebuilt using the original specs.
At our dealership we work very hard to accurately describe our vehicles through text descriptions and elaborate photos. When you purchase a pre-owned vehicle it is not a new vehicle.
