You are looking at a one-of-a-kind, 1971 Chevrolet Cheyenne K20 4x4 Short bed. You are saying to yourself, "They didn't make a K20 short bed." That is correct. This truck has had the frame professionally shortened and has had a new gm short bed installed. This is a custom vehicle, built as if Chevrolet had produced it back it 1971. This truck is equipped with a strong running 454 and a rebuilt 700r4 overdrive transmission. The tranny was built to hold back the torque from the mighty 454. The torque from the motor is a great complement to the overdrive transmission. The truck has 4:10 axle gears. With the low first gear of the 700r4, it gets around town great. If you decide to go for a highway cruise, the overdrive transmission keeps the rpms about 1900 at 65mph. This is a sweet, sweet machine.

The truck is also equipped with 4 wheel power disc brakes! That's right. The eight lug Dana 44 front end and the eight lug Dana 60 rear end are equipped with disc brakes. The rear calipers have provisions for a cable actuated parking brake, which is a huge plus. Now you are thinking, "How could this truck be any sweeter?" The answer is easy, vintage heat and a/c! This truck equipped with a like new, fully functional vintage a/c kit. This particular kit really cleans up the firewall as it eliminates the "squirrel cage" under the hood. Even with the monster 454 under the hood, there is a tremendous amount of room. It is not like the cars of today, where you can't even get in to change a spark plug.

The steering box has just been upgraded to a brand new street performance PSC steering box, along with all new tie rods, ball joints, and all four wheel bearings. It also just received a fresh alignment and drives as straight and tight as any pickup I've ever driven. This is a truck that you can drive around on any day, at any time, and be in total comfort. Hot summer day? No problem, crank up the ice cold a/c and away you go. The truck is equipped with nice sounding mufflers that are just loud enough to let you know what lurks beneath the hood, but not so loud as to rattle your brain.

The paint on this "body on" restoration is approximately 4 years old and is very, very slick. The only real flaw is a small bubble in the paint on the bottom of the front fender. You are not likely to find another K20 that looks this good. Setting the whole package off is a set of eight lug classic eagle alloy wheels. These are sort of a "retro upgrade," as these wheels were very popular in the early 80's. These wheels are wrapped in a set of like new Toyo Open Country A/T's that measure just shy of 33 inches.  The modern tires along with the half ton springs make the truck ride very nice for a 4x4 truck,

The paint under the hood and inside the cab is original. There is nice patina in the cab, but it still looks very nice. It is equipped with beautiful hounds tooth buckets and a center console. It is also equipped with the factory working radio and ashtray. The head liner and trim has been replaced. All of the gauges, down to the factory tach and rare vacuum gauge have all been replaced. All of the gauges work, with the exception of the vacuum gauge. Sitting inside the truck and listening to the big block rumble takes you back in time.

People of the era do a double take when they see the truck. They notice the short bed 4x4, but their head spins around when they realize it is a ¾ ton. If you are looking for a time machine unlike any other, this is a sweet example. It can take you anywhere you want to go in style and comfort.
