This is the latest and FINAL culmination of collaboration between Ford Motor Company and Carroll Shelby of the original Shelby Cobra GT500 fame from the 1960's. Everyone remembers the Ford Shelby Cobra's from the late 60's, but Ford has outdone themselves with the new Shelby GT500 Shelby Cobra. It is the most powerful production car Ford has ever produced with 662 HP and 631 ft-lbs torque from a supercharged 5.8 liter V8 and is ready to breathe fire when you are but is docile when you want it to be. Ford lists this true Super Car at 200 MPH.  Most sports cars can only dream of performance like this and none of them can match the price value.

The view from the driver's Recaro Leather seat is airy, the driving position relaxed, headroom plentiful.   The Bilstein selectable dampers give you a choice of rides from the cockpit.  The Torsen differential keeps the rear tires on the ground.  Compromises are few; you will only feel the heat if you turn up the cabin temperature. Unless you stomp on the right pedal, the GT500 does not behave like a supercar. You could happily drive it across the country. However, when you want it to, the Shelby becomes a beast.
