The Chevrolet Impala is a full-size automobile built by the Chevrolet division of General Motors introduced for the 1958 model year. Deriving its name from the southern African antelope, Chevrolet's most expensive passenger model through 1965 had become the best-selling automobile in the United States, competing against the Ford Galaxie 500 and the Plymouth Fury when full-size models dominated the market. The Impala was distinguished for many years by its symmetrical triple taillights. The Impala was restyled on the GM B platform for the first time in 1961. The new body styling was more trim and boxy than the 1958–60 models. Sport Coupe models featured a "bubble top" roof line style for '61, and a unique model, the 2-door pillared sedan, was available for 1961 only. It was rarely ordered and a scarce collectible today. The rare Super Sport (SS) option debuted for 1961. This was also the last year the top station wagon model would bear the Nomad name. Power brakes were $43. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the clean and rarely seen 1961 Chevrolet Impala “Bubble Top” you see pictured. This Impala is exceptional and has benefitted from a complete frame off restoration. Since restoration, the coupe has only seen approximately 6,000 miles! The car is truly a “see to believe” kind of car! Finished in red paint with white accents, the paint on this car is in gorgeous condition, showing very few minor imperfections. The body is as straight as the day it came off the production line. The chrome is in great shape, showing only minor imperfections. Inside, you’ll see that the seats are wrapped in a two tone red and ivory vinyl/cloth combination, which complements the exterior. The seats show no notable signs of wear or damage, as well as the carpet and door panels. The dash is also in great shape! This Impala is just as gorgeous inside as it is on the out. Under the hood, you’ll find a clean engine bay with a 348 cubic inch engine, casting number 3857655, built 30 over. This is an OEM Tri Power V8! The cylinder heads are also OEM, casting number 383087. A set of dual Flowmaster mufflers send all the exhaust out the rear of the car and sound great. Attached to the engine is the T101C four speed manual transmission. The Impala sits upon a set of good looking chrome wheels wrapped in new BF Goodrich TA tires. This car has power brakes with front disc brakes. This is truly a beautiful Impala and is ready to drive anywhere your heart desires. The VIN is 11837L201855 and the mileage currently shows 67,760. It is being sold on a clean and clear title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
