The Volkswagen Beetle, officially called the Volkswagen Type 1 (or informally the Volkswagen Bug), is an economy car produced by the German auto maker Volkswagen from 1938 until 2003. With over 21 million manufactured in an air-cooled, rear-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration, the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single design platform, worldwide. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this beautiful 1972 Volkswagen Beetle you see pictured. The car you see here has benefitted from a mild restoration and looks fantastic. This is lovely example of the classic Volkswagen Beetle everyone knows and loves. Finished in yellow, the paint has been repainted recently and looks excellent. The body is solid and straight, as a hardy Beetle should be. The chrome bumpers do show some minor imperfections but overall, the chrome shows well. Along with new paint, the car also received new aluminum running boards, aftermarket rear side venting windows, a new tinted windshield with wipers and new rubber body seals and beading all around. Overall, this is a handsome little Beetle. Inside, you will find that interior has been recently reupholstered in two tone gray tweed that looks fantastic and compliments the yellow exterior. The seats are in excellent shape, showing no signs of wear or imperfections. The door panels match the seats and are also in fantastic condition. The white headliner is also new and is in great shape. To make those afternoon drives more enjoyable, an AM/FM/CD stereo has been installed with 3-way speakers in both the front kick panel and rear deck. This Bug also has AC from the factory but is inoperable as it does need a compressor. However, many other AC components are already in place. Under the rear deck, you’ll find the dual port 1600cc engine, which has benefitted from a recent tune that included a valve adjustment, new electronic ignition, distributor cap with rotor, wires and plugs, as well as a new ignition coil. The engine main seal, o-ring and body to engine seal have also been replaced recently. Attached to the engine is a manual transmission that has benefitted from a new clutch, throw out bearing, resurfaced pressure plate, transmission mounts, shift bushing and coupler with a floor Hurst style shifter. Along with other newer engine components, the car has a new muffler, new ceramic heater boxes and cables as well. The Beetle sits upon a set of 15” wheels that have been sandblasted, painted white and have VW wheel covers with P165/80R15 radial tires. As far as suspension goes, the car has new shocks, front end ball joints, tie rods, steering dampener and has been recently aligned. The four wheel drum brakes have been turned to spec with new brake shoes and have had the master cylinder and wheel cylinders repaired. This is an awesome Beetle and it is a definitely a car you must see to believe. The VIN is 1122783363 and the mileage currently shows 41,623. The car is being sold on a clean & clear Missouri title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
