Introducing the 1929 Austin Seven "Chummy", finished in Maroon over Black with a Black vinyl interior.
The Seven was introduced in 1922 and became a very important car in Austin's line up. By 1926, the Seven had proven so popular that Austin was able to double production from the previous year. Simple and reliable, the Austin Seven was capable of fuel economy in excess of 50 miles per gallon. The quick, nimble cars also gained modest success on some racing circuits of the day. The name “Chummy” denotes a four-seat tourer, which this one is.
This Seven is equipped with a 747cc Inline 4 cylinder with a 3 speed manual transmission. 19" wire wheels, with 3.50-19 Avon Sidecar Triple Duty are equipped on all four corners. The odometer reads 8,109, but true mileage is unknown, and the engine does not run. The body and paint are in moderate condition, and the interior and top in good condition, for the age of the vehicle.
This a very special vehicle tied to a historic British brand, and would be perfect piece in garages of any kind.
