I have owned this car for 40 years and it has always been garaged since I have owned it. It was originally a California car. I ran into the owner at a garage, he was getting a muffler put on it. He was just a kid and he told me that his uncle had a roofing company in Russellville, Arkansas. He said that he drove it from California to work for his uncle. He was home sick and, as you could imagine, was tired of putting roofs on house’s in August. I told him that if sold me the car he could be on a plane that afternoon. He couldn’t resist. I put a dent/scratch in the RH door. I was backing out of my garage and didn’t see my lawnmower. I believe that I included a picture of the damage. Also, while the car was in California, it was lightly hit in the rear end or backed into something. I guess that they tried to fix it themselves. because they didn’t do a very good job. You can’t see the damage without opening the deck lod. Again, I think that I included a picture of the damage. That is the only body damage and both are easy fixes. The car has a 289 2V motor with a C5 automatic transmission. It has, what I believe, to be rare bench seats, for a Calente. It took several years to find a car that had the correct A/C unit. I put in all of the parts for the A/C, but I have never got it evacuated and charged with freon. It has to be freon 12. I was a Ford Parts Manager for over 40 years and fanatical about using genuine parts. I had put new tires on it 25 years ago. It had sit in the garage for most of that time. So the tires only had about 1,000 miles on them. My wife and I decided to drive the car to Hot Springs Arkansas ( 160) miles round trip, to a car show. All the way down there and half way back it was thump, thump because they were bias ply tires. The next day I bought radius ply tires on it. There is only a few hundred miles on them. I pulled them car out of the garage to take some more pictures. I noticed that there was a Power Steering leak. I am 82 and can’t crawl under cars anymore. I live on the lake and have 3 miles of dirt roads to go to town. I have a fiend who owns a garage and I will have the leak repaired. I have to wait for a rain to settle the dust. That’s about what I know about the car. I know that I wouldn’t be afraid to drive the car anywhere.
