Only once in a while does a car with this much hotrod pedigree come up for sale.  i have decided to sell the love of my life...my 1951 mercury coupe full kustom.  this car has all the right touches chopped, hardtopped , nosed, decked 1954 Pontiac grille, kaiser tail lights all this work performed by master Craftsman Bill Hines also known as the leadslinger since he had a dislike of bondo and used pretty much only lead on all of his Kustom creations.   The body work was worked so slick and flawless that it was perfect and it was at that point another legend was called in to do the paintwork the great Larry Watson who laid down a custom mix based on a candy apple red that was super polished to a miles deep shine before Watson did all the pinstriping on the car as well and including his version of the Von Dutch flying eyeball on the trunk lid and signed it Watson 55/95  meaning the year he started striping and the year he painted this particular car.
As mentioned earlier the car has been hard topped meaning the door post has been removed for a clean  unobstructed side view in doing so and the other amazing part is all the windows are power including the rear quarter windows plus all the stainless window trim was handmade for the side windows and by itself is a work of art.
Along with most any kustom built car the drivetrain was modified as well this car getting the tried and true small block chevy and a turbo 350 transmission and a gm rear axle.
The suspension on this car is a static drop meaning  there are no airbags and it sits this way all the time although there is a pair of air shocks and a small onboard compressor that helps adjust the rear some.
The interior is tuck and roll all done by Gabes House of Trim and the seat is a power bench .   the dash is still the stock 1951 mercury waterfall unit complete with working  stock gauges and all the knobs and radio pushbuttons were all handmade by none other that Gary Niemie who had Bill Hines build him a stunning 49 Mercury with 51 rear quarter panels.   This car has been loved it's entire life and well maintained by all of its owners and again with this pedigree of artists involved in the build is rare....please feel free to ask all the questions you like and the car can be seen by appointment only.
