Finished in Silver Arrow Metallic. over a Black and Silver Nappa Leather interior, power comes from a 5.0-liter M113 V8 paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include xenon headlamps, AMG sportstyling, heated seats, a removable hardtop and electrically retracting softtop, and Silver Arrow-specific trim and leather. This SL500 Silver Arrow. currently shows only 80,227k miles on the digital odometer, approximately 12kof which have been added by me over the last +- 3 years. This R129 is being offered with a clean Carfax report, service records, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, and a clean Florida title. In August of 2021,shortly after purchasing this car I had all fluids replaced.  The previous owner reportedly had the top hydraulic cylinders rebuilt.  The top functions flawlessly.

The soft top was replaced about 6 months ago. The included hardtop is finished in matching Silver Arrow Metallic and has remained with the car since new. To the best of my knowledge no panels have ever been resprayed.  I did have some minor scratches touched up last year.

This example retains the original Silver Arrow-specific wheels produced by BBS for the R129 Silver Arrow edition. These 2-piece wheels measure 18x8.5” up front and 18x9.5” in the rear and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport All Season ZR rated tires fitted 8/21 and have about 12,000 miles on them. Tire sizes are 245/40 and 275/35 respectively. The chrome beauty rings on the wheels show nicely with no signs of scuffs or curb rash. Factory Silver Arrow calipers are seen behind each wheel along with drilled rotors. 

The cabin is trimmed in two-tone Black and Silver (231) Nappa leather across the seats, door cards, head rests, shift knob, and steering wheel. The original silver leather trimmed floor mats. Black Birdseye Maple wood adorns the door cards and center console and remains free from cracks. Additional features include electrically adjustable heated front seats with memory, automatic climate control, an automatic dimming rear view mirror with integrated home-link, and Silver Arrow-exclusive polished aluminum trim including the shifter surround. 

The Silver Arrow package for this SL500 was offered for an additional $2,500 on top of MSRP and was limited to 1,550 units for the North American market. The Silver Arrow package includes Exclusive “Silver Arrow”Ultra-Metallic paint, specifically designed trim for the Silver Arrow package,Black Birdseye Maple wood, illuminated Door Sills, Xenon Lights, Heated Seats,a 6-disc changer, exclusive high polish BBS wheels, and polished aluminum exterior and interior features. Total MSRP for this example shows $87,945 for the 2002 model year which happened to be the final production year for the R129SL-Class.

The 5.0-liter M113 V8 was rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired to a 722.6 automatic five-speed transmission. The car was in for service & oil change last August at 79,834 miles.

This is a quality driver. The only issues I am aware of is that other than the paint imperfections and the silver oxidation around the soft top base I have tried to photograph and present, that the hood sound blanket was removed.  You may wish to replace it.  Also a few of the pixels on the AC are a bit weak sometimes.  A light tap and they illuminate properly.
