1997 BMW M3 Sedan 5 speed
196k miles
Arctic silver exterior
Dove gray leather interior
I am the technically 3rd owner but I have only owned it for less than 6 month where I purchased this car to work on to keep me busy as a project. There was not much needed other than maintenance so I did some work to get the car in tip top shape. I've owned several E36 M3's over the years and really like them for the easy of maintenance and drivability. When I was looking into this car, I looked for all the common issues with e36 and this one check most of my boxes. The handling is phenomenal, it feels very powerful/quick, and the car is a real joy to drive.
Before purchasing the car these are the things I checked out:
Headliner sag - very minimal and was told it was replaced by the original owner at some point
Rubber shrinkage around windows and door handles - very minimal, nothing to be concern about
Interior is in great shape 9/10 - could use a deep cleaning for the age of the car
Body is in great shape 9/10 - straight, no repairs done ever that I can see. Clean title no accidents
Paint is in great shape 9/10 - Very good paint, for its age the normal rock chip in front end paint but minimal.
Carfax - clean no accidents
Car has paperwork from the original owner for maintenance over 2 inch thick and the 2nd owner also documented work he did.
Engine runs strong with no oil leaks anywhere.
No glovebox sag
no cracks on the dash
Door cards are in great shape
No Rust
No Oil Leaks
Info display has no issues or codes.
Has full tool kit in trunk
Has the original light in the glove box
Installed Newer updated Steering wheel from 98-99 M3

Reason I purchased this car is because it was in great shape and needed minimal work to get back on the road. A lot of the common issues has been taken care of or it does not have the issue. No trim plastic issues, no glovebox sag or headliner sag. Door cards are not falling apart. It has the upgraded aluminum radiator and all the cooling problems parts have been upgraded already. No Oil leaks at all! No rust!! Check under the car and truck for rust and no evidence or it at all. All VIN numbers are in the right places so no body work has been done. Has all the suspension parts upgraded already and reinforced. The car will also come with the original parts like the SAP pump, original radio, KW adjust wrench etc. AC / Heat works great Interior and exterior is in excellent shape and motor was replaced. This motor only has about 100k. Cars Brake rotors and pads are in great shape over 75%, Clutch was replaced 17k miles ago, cooling system flush was 50 miles ago, cooling system parts replaced 10k ago. Car has full size spare in the trunk. All lights work. I am selling because I purchased another project: Porsche 997.

Exterior
Good body with no significant dings or dents. Paint in good condition for its age. Various rock chips and imperfections on the front bumper and front edge of the hood. Some cracking and touch-ups on the rear bumper. Body is Straight never had body work that I can tell. All vin in tack on doors, trunk, fenders etc.
Interior
No cracks in the dash or tears/holes in the leather. Wear evident on seats and door panels, with some discoloration. Some discoloration and stains in the carpeting, mostly on driver's side. Headliner was replaced at some point years ago, but there is one area in the back that is starting to re-loosen.
Air conditioning, heat, cruise control, sunroof, and power windows all work.
Car starts, stops, shifts, and drives as it should.
No leaks evident on garage floor where it has been sitting. No wet oil spots in the engine.
Borla exhaust is not particularly loud. KW coilovers are fantastic. Ride and handling are of course subjective but it feels like the perfect sports sedan to me.
Flaws:
Airbag light is on (I believe the driver's airbag has been unplugged when the previous owner upgraded the steering wheel).
Traction control and ASC light are on because of performance ASC delete module.
ABS Light is one from the sensors in the brake pads that needs to be cleaned
Check engine light is on because of Secondary Air pump delete
