A True Time Capsule!
I'm reluctantly parting ways with my beloved 1948 Cadillac Series 62 4-door sedan, a true gem that's been in my family for 37 years. This Arizona native has never seen rust and boasts an incredible 14,800 original miles. Garaged its entire life, with the last 25 years in a heated and AC-controlled garage, this Cadillac has been pampered like royalty. I still remember the day I removed the original nylon seat covers, which had been on the seats since new, and discovered a perfect interior that still smells like the 1940s! It was like stepping back in time. I felt like I was sitting in a vintage movie theater, surrounded by the glamour of Hollywood's Golden Age. My kids used to love sitting in the back seat, pretending they were in a scene from "Grease" or "American Graffiti". This car has been more than just a mode of transportation - it's been a time machine, a conversation starter, and a cherished family heirloom. Here are the key points that make this original car a rare find:
- Original Arizona car with zero rust
- Only 14,800 original miles
- Owned by the current owner for 37 years
- Garaged entire life, with the last 25 years in a heated and AC-controlled garage
- Entire car is all original, including:
- Paint
- Chrome
- Mohair interior (still smells like new 76 years later!)
- Engine (Flathead V8)
- 4-speed automatic transmission
- 6-volt system
- Runs perfectly, with no oil leaks or issues.
- Radial wide whitewall tires with only 1500 miles
- Original nylon seat covers protected the original seats until 10,600 miles, revealing a perfect interior that still smells original.
- Does not burn oil,
- Uses premium gas.
When I first saw the car, I brought a master mechanic with me for a thorough inspection. He brought a shop jack and inspected everything under the bottom of the car, including the ball joints - all in very good condition. Once we had it back to his shop, he took an air hose to all the nooks and crannies to blow out all the fine dust and sand from everywhere - it amounted to approximately 1/3 pint in total. He was very thorough, and I was impressed by the lack of moisture retention - it was like talcum powder! Additionally, the starter motor was replaced approximately 2,200 miles ago, and the battery was replaced two years ago with a 6-volt battery, just like the original. This vehicle is an investment-quality gem, and its condition is a rare find. Don't miss this opportunity to own a piece of automotive history. If you can read this ad, the vehicle is still available.
