Up for Sale is a 1968 Ford Mustang original V8 2V Car with an Automatic transmission and it comes with a NYS transferable Registration (That's what they issued in NYS for older vehicles in place of a title.). For its age the car appears to be in a decent condition with a good interior and without any major damage on the body besides some rust shown in the pics a paintjob because paint is rough. The car came from an Estate and based on the information provided the car has its original engine V8 289 and the original Automatic transmission and rear end. It appears to be an AC car with power steering but someone had removed the AC compressor and we couldn't find it when the car was picked up so not included. The car has a new alternator, new fuel pump, wires, points ignition cap and sparkplugs and a new carburetor that was installed temporarily just to get the car running. The original carburetor is included with the car. The car starts right up (needs a new battery or a boost) and the engine runs very smooth and very quiet it shifts and drives but we didn't test long distances because the brakes are not working very well and lost pressure because there appears to be a brake fluid leak by the front right rotor.
The interior of the car appears to be in a decent shape including rear seats and headliner along with the front dash part. The dash pad on top of the dashboard will need to be replaced as its really in bad shape. Carpet has seen better days and will also need to be replaced. Tires are in good shape with factory hubcaps included and as shown in pics.
There are a number of problems with the car you need to be aware of. The front Windshield has a crack and will need to be replaced. the right front seat on the top has some stitching coming apart and some rust and dents around the body but the biggest problem with the car is the rust underneath.
The floorpans will likely need to be replaced some floorpans may be saved but there is a lot of rust in the right front floorpans the frame rails and torque box. There is actually rust in both front Torque boxes but the right side appears to be worse. Similar to the right front Torque box the right side frame rail is also pretty bad.
Please refer to the pics for condition.
This is a great candidate for restoration or maybe parts but it would be a shame to use this car for parts.
Please see pics for condition and feel free to ask any questions. Given the year and condition of this car I am selling AS-IS and you will receive what you see in the pics.
There are some receipts that come with the car work that had been done such as drum brakes and some other repairs done from the old man who owned the car.
