2006 Chevrolet Four Winds 5000 28A 1 Ton Camper

For consignment, a 2006 Chevrolet Four Winds 5000 28A 1 Ton camper with a title verified 29,266 actual miles. Okay, so maybe vintage racing is not your thing. Perhaps you have a family and love the great outdoors. This low mileage vehicle provides the opportunities to make memories and see some of the spectacular parks in the good old U.S. of A!

Exterior
What starts off looking like a Chevy van quickly turns into a large box on wheels with slab sided walls adorned with giant graphics to break up the monotony of white, and it works. Large flush windows make their way around the camper and a ladder is mounted to the back to allow roof access. The entry door and stowed awning are on the passenger side and the body extends over the cab and far past the rear axle with storage bins and access panels also housed on this side. Eight lug chrome wheels carry 75 series LT tires and aside from a spot of rust on the bumper where a front license plate would be and some general waviness and fading of the panels, the camper overall is in very good condition on the exterior.

Interior
Let's start in the cab which starts with molded tan plastic door panels with lots of map pockets which you'll likely use for other storage since paper maps are obsolete. Cloth bucket seats with a checkered pattern are in very good shape and sit behind a simple dashboard with the usual gauge cluster and familiar digital green read out of mileage. The center stack, also wrapped in black plastic, houses an AM/FM/Cassette radio and A/C controls while storage cubbies and cup holders are o'plenty. The cab is open to the camper section which starts with the loft above the cabin that converts into a bed. Sleepers can pull down the Levelor type blinds for privacy and darkness. A dinette area includes a pair of small benches with seat belts for two on each side of a collapsible table while across the hall, a leather like sofa that also converts to a sleeper. A double sink and three burner stove are in the kitchen along with a microwave and good sized refrigerator while high mounted storage cabinets afford plenty of space. The shower is stand alone plastic construction while the dry bath is a separate room. The master bedroom in back has a full sized bed and window treatments above the blinds and of course, plenty of closet space and storage. Rolled vinyl tile is in the kitchen while plush, tan carpet covers the rest of the living space.

Drivetrain
Not much of the 6.0 liter V8 is visible in the bay and with the plastic covers, but it's there and fuel injected, backed by a 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the Dana axle in back.

Undercarriage
Generally clean underneath with surface rust in the usual places. Suspension consists of an independent front and leaf springs in the back while a single exhaust carries spent gas the length of the camper to exit out back.

Drive-Ability
We're fortunate to have wide open space at the mall in order to fully test this vehicle on the loop. The low mileage ride performed as expected and is a grand departure from the VW Beetle we drove earlier. Mind your sides and top and you'll be fine in this house on wheels. All driving functions from the cab worked as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Okay, here's another idea. That 27 year old "kid" who's still living with you needs their own space. Park this camper next to the house and charge them rent! Seriously though, this is a very nice sized camper that is maneuverable while having plenty of room inside. And the 6.0 liter is renowned for being bulletproof. This will be great for some alone time on the road, or bring the gang because this camper sleeps at least six!

Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (that's more than 8 acres!). The largest single location consignment dealer of classic and collectible vehicles in the country is located in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, just 1-hour west of Philadelphia off Exit 298 of the I-76 Pennsylvania Turnpike. For more information visit or call us at 610-901-3804. Contact us anytime for more information or to come see the vehicle in person.
