This is a 1950 Cadillac Series 62 2-door hardtop street rod project. The car has a professionally done front clip with rack & pinion steering, disc brakes, upper / lower control arms, etc. 3 link rear suspension with panhard bar. Air ride suspension all 4 corners with air compressor and controls. There is a fuel cell and many other parts including multiple pieces of chrome. Shaved door handles with remote opener and shaved trunk lock.
My buddy was building this car in my shop when he passed away. I purchased the car with intentions of finishing it but it has sat for 12 years in the shop. So I can not answer every question but I can try. I finally started working on it 6 months ago but I have an offer to sell my house and shop so I do not have any where to work on this anymore.
The dash and roof had a red metal flake finish that looked like crap in my opinion. I took the dash out and had it stripped and repainted Satin Black like most everything else. The roof has since faded to an even uglier gold look and my intentions were to repaint that when I got it running and take to body shop.
The front and rear bumpers had a few pits on one corner. The bumpers are so big and a huge visual impact so I took them off and had them rechromed at a cost of $3,000. I just got them back and they are still wrapped. Have not put them back on car yet but I can.
I started working on interior and rewiring to 12 volt so the dash is still out along with brake pedal and steering shaft but again, its all there and can certainly be reinstalled. Same with air compressor - removed so I could work on interior although not much progress.
I purchased 18 (I think) Bosch style relays, 100% copper wire (various gauges), fuse blocks, terminal blocks, circuit breakers, blocking diodes, etc for the wiring. Have not ran much to date. All this is included.
The car had a junk motor small block chevy and turbo 350 trans so he could drive it to and from the shop that installed the front clip. So it has been driven even though the motor and trans are out of car. I do not have the motor and I know nothing at all about condition of the transmission. My intentions were to buy a crate engine like a 383 small block and turbo 350 since I know the driveshaft will work. I think a blown big block will fit under the huge hood but I never hit the lottery so there is that.
It had some bucket seats out of who knows what and no rear seat. I still have the buckets they are nothing to brag about. Also has black carpet that actually fits pretty good and good shape. Its out right now as I put sound deadening/heat shield foil down on floor and firewall. No door or kick panels will need to make those.
I have no idea what the rear end is? I can't find any numbers. Drum brakes and pretty nice job adding the brackets to axle tubes for the 3 link suspension. Like I said, he drove it.
There are many extras. 2 radiators one aluminum one steel, a new torque converter, electronic gauges that I have listed for sale but would throw in (I didn't care for that look), and more!
I have a car lift we can raise it and you can check out whatever you like! The car is originally a Southern California car and it is really solid!
