1937 Oldsmobilebusiness coupe, 3/4 finished.  All welding is completed.  Iremoved the body from frame to clean and paint the underside and frame withEastwood's Rust Encapsulator. Rust was cutout and patches weldedin.  A smooth painted firewall is bolted over the originalfirewall.  There are some old, mismatched gauges.  Doors andtrunk close nicely. Good gaps.

Nearly allparts are present.  Missing: one headlight ring, battery cables, carpet, door panels, headliner, gauges, radio, heater and A/C. What iswrong: gas tank is rusty, tires are rotten,  At 5 feet the paint looksgreat, but at 3 feet, you can see the blisters.  I think the DupliColor lacquer paint reacted with the paint underneath.  Old wipersneed converting to electric.  Included is an old battery fortrade-in.

NEW PARTS:wiring harness, chrome taillights, mufflers, window rubber, window crankhandles, rear window glasses, front turn signal lights, chrome master cylinderand chrome power booster.

All the trim isin the car. All the window mechanisms are in the car.  All oldglass is included. Windshield and door windows are not installed butpresent.  Leather electric seats from a 2004 Taho are not bolteddown.  All the bumpers, brackets, and bolts for front and rearbumpers are in the trunk. A 3-inch lowering kit for the rear isincluded.  The window trim inside the car was chromed a long timeago.  The wing vents are complete, but rusty.  Hood trim isin the trunk.  The running boards are in the trunk.

I have included$6,659 of receipts, an Oldsmobile parts catalogue, and all the original partsremoved from the car.

I don’t knowmuch about the motor and trans. The motor has a tag that says it is a 80-44 305GM 5.0L NAPA crate motor, with 0.003 bore and 11:1 pistons. It has roller rockerarms, aluminum intake, 650 Edelbrock carburator. The automatictransmission (I think) is a TH400.  I think the diff ratio is2.73:1.  It was running when I parked it.  I don’t know themiles on either. I drove it 100 yards from the delivery truck to the garage andthen disassembled it.

I rebuilt thefront end with disk brakes.  All bushings have beenreplaced.  The front clip is from a ‘74 Nova and the rear end is (Ithink) from a ‘69 Camero. The rear brakes need replacing. The frontneeds alignment.

The steering isconnected, but the brakes are not.  Parking brake is notinstalled.  Shifter is not connected.  There is a columnshifter and a floor shifter included.  Because the windshield anddoor glasses are not installed, I recommend a covered trailer.  Rearand side windows are in with new rubber.

I believe thatthis will make a great show car, cruiser, or rat rod.  I bought thiscar to build for my wife.  About a year after I started on thisproject, she was killed by a drunk driver.  I can’t finishit.  I have the previous Bill of Sale and I will give you a new Billof Sale.  There is no title required in Georgia.
