Here is a beautiful 1961 Mercury Meteor with a rebuilt 351 Cleveland stroked to 408cid and 4 speed automatic transmission. This car has a full air ride system. This is a rare car only produced from 1961 to 1963 which is why so few are out there.. This design was inspired by the space race in the 60s when cars bare resemblance to space ships. This car was fully restored in about 2009 and at that time over 30k was invested. Runs and drives great but as any old cars will always need something. It's not a Toyota Camry after all. Exterior wise the car has a custom lime green satin paint scheme with factory chrome trim. Outside door handles were shaved, now doors and trunk are opened via remote control door poppers. The hood has a reverse tilt opening system which works nicely. Has 20" Lexani wheels and Nitro Extreme tires. Factory bumpers in good shape as well as tail lights, front grill and other chrome trim. Has LED headlights. When fully dropped the car will basically sit on the ground. Easily raises to driving height or above. This is a sharp looking car that draws a crowd!
The interior looks nice and is very comfortable. Has a set of comfortable power seats and nice carpeting. Custom aluminum door panels with factory door and window cranks. All window regulators work as well as front vent wing windows. Has fully digital gauge cluster made by Dakota Digital. Has factory steering wheel and spare brand new aftermarket wheel in the trunk. Personally I like the OG version. Dash painted to match the car looks cool. Has fully remote airbag system and controller by AVS . You can control all 4 corners of the vehicle to desired height.
Mechanically the car runs excellent. The 351ci was rebuilt and stroked to 408ci. Starts right up and runs excellent. Has 4 speed c6 transmission that shifts very well. Frame was powder coated and suspension control arms were all replaced underneath at time of build. As I said 30k was invested originally. Calipers painted to match firewall and control arms. This car was fully rebuilt. Has painlss wiring harness. Has power brakes and power steering. LED headlights look great!
