$600 or best offer. My vehicle was stolen, recovered, and impounded at "First Class Towing" located at 10274 Dransfeldt Rd, Parker, CO 80134. Their hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. They are closed on the weekends-no exceptions. Monday Aug. 12, 2024 is the very last day to pick this vehicle up.
1992 Honda Accord (4 Cylinders 2.2L MFI 131 CID)
approx. 348,000 miles; automatic transmission.
VIN: JHMCB7670NC027787
I have seen the vehicle at the impound lot. It has one broken rear side window that is completely missing. It's front windshield has several large cracks but is still intact. The ignition switch has a broken off "bump key" in it. The original key no longer works.
As reported by the sheriff deputy, the vehicle was pulled over while it was being driven. The car ran well when it was stolen. At the impound lot, I looked at engine. Fluids and all hoses and housings appeared normal, as before. The tires are not flat and are in good condition and will not need to be replaced for at least a year or more (Nokian Tyres all weather). The spark plugs and air filter have been recently replaced. It is due for brake pads and shoes soon. Oil and filter change was recently performed early spring 2024 in the last about 1500 miles from the current odometer reading. It has a moon and sun roof that operated well before being stolen. There is some minor body damage but noting that is very glaring or too terrible. A couple of minor rust patches on body close to bottom sides. All lights operated fine and likely still do.
When it was stolen, I removed this from my vehicle insurance and it is not currently insured. The registration is expired.
The title is clear and I have it. I have the original key. The impound lot has given until Monday 5pm for this vehicle to be released - a payment of $300 is needed for that. As the car does not start normally (but was running fine when recovered), it would need to be towed, or else started some other way possibly. If the car is not picked up by Monday Aug. 12, 2024, there will be daily storage fees added of $250 per day. Previous owner also maintained this vehicle very well.
I can discuss this over the phone. I have read that repairing the ignition switch including key tumbler to get it started normally may not be very difficult. I do not have the time to do this. The basic part where the key goes in sells for $30-50 online. It may be possible to remove that piece and bring to a locksmith. Probably more sensible to get new piece with new key, then have two keys - new one for ignition and original one for doors.
I am asking $600 because I believe this vehicle can last a long while more and be a reliable car for someone willing to put in a little bit of work into it. Make an offer and contact me to discuss if desired.
If we move forward, what this will need to look like is you deposit $300 for this with me, then we meet at "First Class Towing" at a good time before this coming Monday at about 4:30pm. You arrive with the additional cash due for this sale and give it to me, I pay them $300 to release the vehicle, and you take the title and key (something like that) - and we're done. We can work something else out, such as you meet me some other place, pay me the amount for the sale, I give you back $300 to release the vehicle from impound, I give you title and key, and then I will call First Class Towing to tell them you own the vehicle now.
This is an interesting opportunity for someone. Please do not waste my time. There is not much time left to proceed and make this happen. Thank you very much!
