For your consideration is this 1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero. This has a 200cid engine with an automatic transmission. Manual drum brakes and manual steering. It is a no frills car.
Everything works on the car but for the cigarette lighter, though that is just a wire connection to make it work. The car has a 1969-70 Mustang hood scoop with active turn signals, nice touch.
I consider this to be an exceptional platform for a nice build or enjoy it the way that it is. This car is received surprisingly well when I take it out. Admittedly, it is kind of cool as you just don't see them much anymore. It is fun to putt around in.
History as I know it. I purchased this car as a part of a small collection, I was chasing two other cars but had to purchase all three to get the two that I wanted. The gentleman that owned it just kept it in the garage with junk in the back, never driving it.
I had to replace the carburetor and the oil pressure switch, also oil and filter then get a front end alignment. The car runs and drives as it should. The mileage on the car I believe to be true as this car was last inspected in 1976 (see photo). I'm not sure if the title came back mileage exempt or not, I will have to check.
I could see that the gentleman that worked on it did paint the car. I see underneath that there are new shock and sway bar bushings and things like that along with new tires.
I did have the tonneu cover made for the car as I could not find one to put on other than the new hard style covers that you can convert it to. I wanted something that looked more authentic to the period so I had one made. It too, is a nice touch.
Unfortunately the paint got a bit messed up when I filled the gas tank and the gas leaked and went under the paint (see photo) but fortunately did not go under the primer.
