*At the dealer and before delivery when new, the selling Porsche dealer installed factory front and rear spoilers as well as 16x7 and 16x8 Fuchs wheels. These components are still on the vehicle.
The first owner was Paul Gomez of Merced, California. He ordered this car at the beginning of Summer 1984. As a result, he received one of the last ’84 Carreras built. He wanted factory spoilers as well as wider 7- and 8-inch wide 16” wheels and ordered those items. The dealer had to install those items before delivery. Paul used this 911 as his daily driver for the first decade of ownership and added nearly 80k miles. After that, it became his weekend car. Paul was a teacher for 42 years and he owned this 911 for 35 years and 98k miles. The car lived most of its life in California and he told the current owner that the car was only driven in the rain twice in its life and both times were for less than 20 minutes when heading back from Monterey car week. During his care he serviced it regularly, despite the miles. Besides oil services and regular service, the only repair he ever had to do was replace the alternator in 1997 at 85k miles and the fuel pump in 2019 at 97k miles. Oil, minor, and major services logged throughout his ownership consist of the following:
4/85 1,060 miles (first oil service)
6/85 4,422 miles (oil service)
8/85 8,186 miles (oil service)

Paul Gomez moved to Reno, Nevada in 2019 and took this Porsche with him. By now, he was in his 80s and having difficulty getting in and out of the car. He sold it to a mutual friend of ours who also lives in Reno on June 5th, 2020 with around 97k miles on it.
The current owner is a long-time Porsche enthusiast going back many decades and has owned hundreds of Porsches over the years ranging from a 1964 911 to the 997 generation GT cars. When we first started AutoKennel 20 years ago, he was one of our first big clients and we sold a dozen Porsches for him from 2006 to 2011. The one common theme with his cars was they were all very well sorted and desirable. In the 2000s, he had a full-time mechanic named Victor Ofner who was a savant when it came to air-cooled cars. He semi-retired for a while, which was why our client sold much of his collection with us, but eventually, Victor opened a small shop in Prescott, Arizona called Vic’s Workshop.
Our client purchased this 911 because it was not only a 1 owner California Porsche, but it was incredibly original and well-preserved. A few months after purchasing this 911, he shipped it to Victor to have him go through everything to make sure it was completely sorted. Victor spent the next few months and 122 hours on this Carrera, which included an engine and transmission out full engine reseal. Highlights of work done from 9/20 through 12/20 include:
