This Porsche 356 Speedster replica was built by Vintage Motorcars of California in Hawaiian Gardens, California in June 2023.

The car is finished in Seal Grey over Baseball Brown/Mahogany upholstery and powered by a 2,332cc flat-four, dual Kadron carbs and is paired with a four-speed manual transaxle.

The air-cooled 2,332cc flat-four engine was built by Pat Downs Performance in Dinuba, California, who rated the engine at 145hp when completed. I am told that the engine has an 8.2:1 compression ratio and is equipped with dual-port cylinder heads, twin Kadron carburetors, 94mm pistons, a VM2 camshaft, a CB Performance Magnaspark ignition system, a 26mm Schadek oil pump, and an external oil cooler with an electric fan. The engine is more than capable for your touring pleasure. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a “Freeway Flyer” four-speed manual transaxle with a reported 3.44:1 gear ratio.

Titled in Arizona as a 1974 VW. Mileage is currently 1700 miles.

Exterior details:

Black soft top and side curtains (and tonneau cover & soft car cover)

No badges have been applied; I did not have the heart or the skill to consider drilling a hole in this beautiful car.

Interior details:

The cabin features heated low-back bucket seats upholstered in baseball brown/mahogany vinyl that extends to the dashboard, a rear parcel shelf. Square-weave carpets line the cabin and front trunk, and additional features include a RetroSound Bluetooth stereo, a Vintage Speed shifter, a chrome right-side grab handle, chrome door grabs, door panel map pockets, lap belts, and Coco floor mats. The parking brake is mounted under the dashboard; and expensive but desirable option.

The wood-style steering wheel frames green-letter VDO instrumentation consisting of a central tachometer flanked by a 120-mph GPS-based speedometer and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 1300 miles;  while the total chassis mileage is unknown.

This is the same Speedster you can order with these same options; but without the wait – this car is truly amazing.....the later builds are the BEST!

I have the car up in northeast Arizona….out of the summer heat of Phoenix – I can bring it back down to Phoenix to meet your shipping arrangements. More photos coming soon....
