For sale is my fathers 2001 Jaguar XJR. This is a very rare and special car! This was a prototype build (1 of 2), meaning that when this car was being built at the time (here in the states), another car (Jaguar XJR) in London, England was also being built around the same time. The goal was to try and build a high horsepower Jaguar XJR even though the stock ECUs on these vehicles are locked from the factory. The plan was to make it as fast as possible by any means necessary. During the time of all this, a Master Ford Technician at the time, took it upon himself alongside several other technicians to commence or take part in the build of this Jaguar XJR. When the Jaguar was being worked on, the motor was removed and disassembled and put back together with forged and high quality components and parts, transmission was also beefed up with (higher quality internal components), rear end was taken apart and a rear end gear ratio was changed to accomodate for the power it would be making. Overall, the build took several months to complete and perfect. However, on the other hand, the other Jaguar which was located in London England ran into some build errors and the vehicle was never completed or finished. Once the Jaguar here in the states was completed, the car was taken to an oval and circular track located several feet above sea level. The cars governor (speed limiter & thermostat) was removed in order to run the car around the track hitting a top speed of 224 mph. The car was then tweaked and finalized and after a few months, the Jaguar was put up for sale in which my father flew personally all the way to Chicago, Illinois of which he personally met with the Master Technician (Engine Builder) and he thoroughly went through and explained everything that was done to the car. My father being an old time street racer, knew exactly what the car was capable of doing and how fast it really was. After speaking to him and negotiating on the price, the car was then safely loaded onto an enclosed trailer to which it was properly secured and strapped down and taken to NY where the car currently is.
Some things to note: The car has been kept in the garage all its life. The Jaguar has never seen rain, sleet or snow. Only driven on warm, sunny days and has NO RUST underneath or the undercarriage itself. This car was meticulously maintained by my father himself and by me his (son) who is very hands on and knowledgeable on working on these cars and various others as well. There are no current issues with the car itself (no check engine light), squeaks, bangs, slippage, etc. Transmission shifts smoothly and the rear end has no issues/noise. Overall the car is clean both inside and out (exterior and interior) the paint is in excellent condition as well as the interior such as the seats, the plastic trims and what not are like new, etc.
In my fathers possession, the car has been babied, very rarely was the car driven hard or raced all due to the fact that it is very hard to fix a car of this nature and with this amount of modifications and upgrades that was done to it. Now horsepower wise, the car is making close to 800hp on the motor and about 1,000 horsepower on nitrous oxide. Yes, the car is equipped with nitrous but it was only used once when the engine builder tested it at the track to see if they could push the car to its very limit under the modifications it had, since then it was never used nor was the bottle ever filled up. Line is hooked up but the bottle has remained empty since the last time it was used at the track.
Car at the current moment does not need anything and can be driven as is whether it is for a long trip or for a short trip around town. Car remains perfect at around 190*F. Never overheats and the Jaguar blows perfectly COLD AC and has very HOT Heat for those cold fall or early spring months, etc.
I do possess a Word Document that does contain a detailed layout and outline of what has been done to the car and I will provide this information to the potential, future buyer of this vehicle. This word document, however, does not contain every single little detail as to what exactly was done to the car at the time. I believe that the engine builder/builders did not want to list this information for obvious reasons (possibly to keep the cars build to a secrecy/mystery, etc.). The only person who knows this car very well is the engine builder's, any previous owners, my father himself and myself included. No one else...!
The reason why I am selling it is because my father passed away a few days ago in his sleep while vacationing in his hometown island of Syros, Greece. I did not want to sell it due to the fact that this was one of my father's beloved and favorite cars he's ever wanted and has owned in his entire life. Unfortunately this has happened and I have no choice but to sell it and use the money towards any expenses we may have.
No expense has been spared on this build and the car has been meticulously well built.
Clean Title and Zero Accidents.
