About this vehicle

This is my 2002 Ranger which I bought new in September of 2002. For the older guys who used to be on RangerPowerSports.com, you may remember it. *It's 2WD, 4.0 SOHC *First, let me list the modifications, but I'm sure I'll miss a few: -Suspension: Lowered with 4/5 DJM kit. Belltech shocks all around. Has a Ford Performance rear sway bar and a larger front sway bar. -Engine: Just bolt-ons. Air Force One intake, larger MAF, crank under drive pulley and electric fan. The exhaust is high-flow cat into a Flowmaster 50 series Delta flow SUV case with a turn down. -Transmission: Gets a little interesting here. I got tired of rebuilding 5R55Es, so it has a GM small bell housing 700-R4 with a manual valve body, B&M ratchet shifter and torque converter lockup switch. I mated the trans to The 4.0 w/ an Advanced Adapters 4.0 OHV to 700R4 adapter plate. It was modified to fit the SOHC. The trans is built by FB Performance with a Pro Torque converter. Separate trans cooler w/ fan. Rearend specs here: Eaton 3:73s with an Auburn Pro limited slip. -Body/ misc: HID headlights, yellow foglights, clear corner markers (black trimmed), Edge front bumper valance, SLP white grill and Street Scene side view mirrors. -Interior: some painted stuff, white gauge cluster, blue LED lights, fiberglass center console and tweed headliner and lots of tweed wrapped trim pieces. Explorer overhead compass/ console. Billet knobs and switches. Early 2000s Sony head unit and after market door speakers. -The good: truck has a little under 92K miles. I changed the oil every 2500 to 3000 miles. I serviced all of the fluids regularly, as well as plugs and wires, etc, up until 2012. It has never once had the dreaded timing chain rattle. The seats are in nearly new condition. There is no rot on this truck, the frame has some surface rust here and there from sitting in a garage for 12 years. Comes with Super Chips tuner tool. I installed a new battery and fuel pump this July. -The bad: 2012 came around, life comes, you get older and priorities change. The truck sat in my garage for 12 years. Time goes by fast! Tires are shot, it needs rims, as one has a crack through a spoke and they are generally worn. The frame and underside are dirty, it's mostly surface grime. All the fluids are old, however I don't want to hide things with new fluids. Even the old oil isn't nasty looking, it shows how well it was cared for until parked. from sitting it needs pads and rotors and I'm sure shoes. One of the trans cooler lines (AN braided) has a slow seep and should be replaced, but admittedly, I drove it like that for years. There aren't tons of miles on the trans, maybe 10- 15K. A bottle of house-wash had spilled on the back bumper without me noticing and it ate the chrome on the bumper under the license plate and the glue to one of the license plate lights loosened from it. It has a few scratches, mostly from a hurricane around 2010, but the paint isn't awful. The electric fan has stopped working, it has power, but no longer comes on. I have not let it overheat. The glass on driver side mirror is cracked. The limited slip is worn and needs a new clutch back installed. -My ultimate plan was to LS swap it or maybe something else, but I don't have time for another project and want my garage space for something else. I tried to lay everything out here. I cleaned the 12 years of dust off of it, but I didn't try to hide anything by glomming goop all over it. It's clean, but not hiding anything. Same for the fluids. I did fog the cylinders before storing. After a new fuel pump, fuel filter and battery she started right up. The speedo is slightly off. It reads a little faster than actual speed. I was in the middle of tuning revisions with my tuner (back then was Bama Tuning), but never had him send me the final tune with a more precise speedo calibration.
